My 1st grader needs to bring 100 of an item to school. It's suppose to all fit into a plastic sandwich bag. Problem is it's suppose to be something different than the other kids... and LOL I have no idea what they are bringing. They are going to be weighing, measuring, etc these items. So I'd love to have him bring something fun and different than 20 other kids are bringing. You all are a creative group, so any suggestions? :)

Hi!
For 100 days, the kids in my 6 year old's class brought things like 100 pony beads, 100 googly eyes, jelly beans, jingle bells, foam letters, seashells, macaroni, cotton balls, pom pons, little stickers(stars/smiley faces that the class shared), little fabric roses, interesting pasta pieces, dried beans, mini-marshmallows.

Hope you guys have a great 100th day.

My first thought was food items. Wonder what that says, I'm hungry maybe?

All I could think of was goldfish, pretzels, cheerios.....but then the kids would probably eat them and there would be way less than 100. :p

DD took M&M's this year. Not original but it was easy. :) I can't remember what she did last year.

DS brought those clear stones last year, they were pretty heavy, but small enough to fit in a baggie.

If you collect stamps (lol) then 100 stamps! :D

My DD brought 100 hair bands
My DS brought 100 foam hearts (their 100th day was the week of Valentine's Day)

At school Ashley did a sort of trail mix, 10 ingredients with 10 of each.....
10 raisins, 10 cheerios, 10 dried bananas....etc.. I can't remember them all, but it was kind of a neat thing to do :)

we've done 100 popsicle sticks, 100 cotton balls, 100 pennies, 100 light brite pegs, 100 hair clips, 100 pony beads, 100 crayons, 100 dried peas/lentils, 100 stickers, 100 cheerios.
I am sure there are a few more items that we have done ... Cody did 100 days until 4th grade, Jenna did up until last year too (4th grade also), Xander has done it for three years now (2nd grade), and Quinten gets to start next year in Kindergarten.

I happened to have a bunch of colored paper clips in a junk drawer, so my daughter brought those this year. It was her first 100 days thing, and I assume that worked well.

great ideas! I didn't even think of raiding my craft supplies for 100 items! All I could think of were paperclips and pennies or m&ms. Problem is that I don't have 100 of any of those just lying around anyway. :p Thanks for the suggestions, I'm sure we'll find something great now!

We've always done a treat that they can share once they are done... reese's peanut butter cups (minis), hershey kisses, or other wrapped candy... you may be able to find something easy with easter right around the corner!

When my kids did this, I sent DS to school with macaroni and my DD with pinto beans. It was different because most of the moms sent like fruit loops, cheerios, M&Ms, kisses etc.

Another great idea is to have them take 100 of something that can be donated to the class afterward, like 100 crayons, 100 bandaids, 100 stickers - or anything that can be used as prizes in class. Dollar Tree is a great place for all kinds of ideas.

Craft supplies made me remember. DD brought in 100 sequined butterflies last year from my stash. That was a big hit with the girls.

well I did Abby's name 100 times on a tshirt. But I am an over-achiever. She took 100 goldfish and they had a 100 days trail mix.

I raided my craft closet after all the craft suggestions. We ended up with 100 mini foam shapes. Super fun and colorful. I know Logan is very excited about tomorrow and I think they are making trailmix in school and other fun stuff too.

I have never heard of anyone doing this. It sounds like something that everyone is doing now though!
