The future of my relationship may depend on the results of this poll. LOL Please choose one and elaborate.

this is so freakin' funny...I personally never thought about it, i just always put it under myself. But DH started giving me crap about it a few years ago (we've been married 10 years!). He now has our kids trained that the TP goes OVER. So the kids will come and hunt me down to tell me I did it wrong if it isn't over the top. It's become kind of a game at our house, LOL!!

DEFINTIELY over. If it is under it is hard to find the end, and the kids just keep pulling and pulling until the whole roll is gone. I honestly don't think we have ever had a discussion about it, so I don't think DH cares.

Absolutely has to be over. I do not like scrapping the wall to try and get my toilet paper.

Over for sure. I don't like to have to tilt my head upside down to look for the end and/or spin it upwards to find it. Over is so much easier!

Hubby doesn't care - he puts in on however he feels like....if I see that it's under, it's changed to over in less than 1.7 seconds!! lol

But, if it's over, the kids call roll out the whole roll by just flipping it with their hand. LOL!
I do it over too, and since I'm the only one in my house who ever changes the toilet paper rolls, them my way is the right way. :)

I used to be adamant about it being over, but my hubby doesn't care either way, so I started to not care either. And now, I find that when Sadie finds her way into a bathroom and starts to play with the t.p., it takes her longer to completely unroll the whole thing if it's under. :)

WOOT, WOOT!!! BUY COTTONELLE or any other K-C products... I need my 401K to go back up!! ;)
It has to be over... it was a deal breaker for my hubby... luckily, he use to design the machines that make toilet papers, so he, too, says over. But what really gets him totally excited is when he finds a roll that was made on his machine he worked on... Goodness, gracious! That is an engineer for you!

If it manages to get on the holder inthe first place I call it good. I don't care what direction it is so long as it is not sitting on the dge of the sink waiting to fall in and get soaked when you wash your hands.

Yes! The kids and DH just take it out of the cupboard and put it on the counter somewhere. Since I'm the only one that actually puts it on the holder, it is always right. LOL
Definitely OVER!

You guys are going to think I'm such a slacker after the christmas tree admission last week, but I'm lucky if the roll is actually ON the holder. Most of the time it's just sitting on the counter next to the potty.

Over all they way ... I HATE trying to find the beginning of the roll under or behind the roll of paper. End up getting it all over a dirty floor and then I am supposed to use it?!? YUCK. You asked to elaborate ... ;)

That's why we squish our roll before putting it on..that way it has that little whomp whomp whomp when you unroll it so our 6yo doesn't unroll it..no matter which way it's put on.
My peeve..even bigger than those not putting it over...are those who don't put it on a roll at all. I hate community TP on the back of the tank or in a basket. It's a weirdness I have...I hate it.

Over...although right now we don't put any of ours on the holder b/c if I do Avery will unroll every drop of it onto the bathroom floor..he does it every time. In fact my MIL was keeping him one day and she put a new roll on the holder at some point during the day and when I got home she told me she realized now why my toilet paper was never on the holder lol. I mean he will unroll a FULL roll until there is a mountain in the middle of the floor..and it doesn't matter how much trouble he gets in..he'll do it again. I think it's just too much temptation for one little boy to handle :)
I may have to try the squishing thing though :)

It has to be over...my mother changes it to under every chance she gets and it drives me crazy!
If we don't place it on the holder it invariablly gets dropped in the toilet. Happened again just yesterday. Good times.....

I'm an odd ball I guess, for me it's under
I reckon the rest of 'em are the oddballs :D Under, all the way here!
We don't put our upstairs one on the holder cos DS (19mths) stands there and unravels it til it's all gone, so it's kept out of his reach. And when I pick it up, the end has to be facing to the right...DH keeps putting it down backwards and it drives me nuts :D :D

Definitely under! This was an issue in our house until I hid the rollers. Now the TP sits on the counter.

I put it over because DH likes it that way- I actually just put a new one on going under to see what he'd do and he didn't notice yet! lol! But I think he only goes #2 in the downstairs bathroom so he wouldn't notice the tp in the upstairs one. lol.

03-02-2010, 05:20 PM
LOL Definitely over here. A couple of years ago I thought I was losing my mind, because every single time I would go in the bathroom it was under so i'd change it back to over. Come to find out DF was messing with my head. He kept changing it back to under just mess with me...such a brat!

Over...but I can actually remember my mother teaching me that was the "proper" way to hang it. Never under! Ha, ha, ha.
Doesn't it have something to do with stopping it from unrolling?
Now you've got me questioning why?

What, there's no option for on the floor? That's where it ends up in our house. So I guess as long as it is on a holder it's a bonus, and any way will do;)
My youngest can't reach the holder from the toilet, so she always puts in on the floor. Then she goes in the cupboard and gets the new rolls and builds a tower. To be honest though, I've never really given the over/under thing any thought.
