I'm not tripping on anything (honest), but it has recently occurred to me that sometimes..hearing a light and steady rain outside would make things feel so right with the world. For instance, tonight I hear the dish washer running and the TV, and every now and then, I will *think* I hear rain and this sort of calming excitement will wash over me. BUT, I realize it is NOT raining and I think, "Dammit, why isn't it raining? I would so enjoy the sound of some rain right now to sing me to sleep."

Off topic, I wasn't aware until now that the word Dammit is not spelled Damnit. Thank you for learning me some purty words, forum spell-check.

Who else knows what I'm talking about here? I can't be the only one. :)

I miss it too... we just moved from the desert. For me, it reminds me of Spring and things growing. I'm looking forward to spring.

I love the sound of rain!! My alarm clock comes with two presets, I can listen to the sound of waves crashing with seagulls chirping(or whatever it is they do lol) or the sound of rain! I looove to go to sleep to it. My girls have taken to turning it on now and then when they're just playing, or sometimes I turn it on in their room for them.

LOVE the sound and smell of rain! We are supposed to get some rain tonight...thunderstorms actually - which I think are pretty cool as well.

I love a light summer rain and the fresh smell it gives to the air....I'd like some rain today to wash away the rest of this snow!

When I was little and would spend a night at my grandparents who lived on a farm... it was an old farmhouse with a tin roof... that was the best!! Now, my house is so insulated I can't hear it rain and if I do hear it... then I better be listening to the radio in case of warnings...

In Luxembourg, you don't have to daydream about rain, as it's your reality most of the time. But I can well see your point -- there *is* something about an afternoon spent reading and sipping tea while listening to the rain beating against the window and being happy that you're nicely inside. Also, somehow one feels less guilty of not doing anything when it's raining outside. :-)

I love the sound of pouring rain. I absolutely hate rain when it comes in a dreary drizzle, lol. I also love love love thunder & lightning. The brighter & louder, the better :).
