right after decorating?
I remember as a kid we would hide them over and over and then mom would still put them in the refrigerator to be eaten that week. Me, I'm not so sure that is a good idea.
How long do you leave yours out?

I generally leave them out until they dry and then refridgerate. We don't hide the colored eggs.. only plastic ones.

My mom always used ours as a centerpiece on Easter Sunday. They stayed out on the table from 8am until 8pm usually. Then she put them back in the fridge and made deviled eggs out of them later in the week.
Probably I would do the same without thinking about it - if I had any need for a centerpiece & didn't have cats that would want to knock the eggs off the table.
We usually decorate eggs at a friend's house and generally 3-4 hours elapse before we get home and get them in the refridgerator.

We refrigerate after dyeing, and then we hide them the next day and refrigerate immediately after and use them to eat during the week. They're not out that long, so I'm not too worried.

Ditto...after they are dyed they live in the fridge until they are made into egg salad or deviled eggs. DD hunts plastic eggs filled with goodies and prizes.

I let them dry then refrigerate them. I hide them and refrigerate after them being found.

I don't hide real eggs, only plastic ones. I'm kinda weird about food sitting out.

Me too! MIL would do things like leave them out all day, potato salad too ... then her and dh ended up with food poisoning a few times ... then I was VERY VERY careful what I ate at their house.

We don't eat them, so they can sit out all day for all I care. They get tossed after the end of the day and then we move on to plastic ones.

Ditto.
I'll probably make deviled eggs out of them for DH (I don't like eggs, and Rachel doesn't like hard boiled). One or two dozen eggs + DH = major gas...so glad I'll be visiting mom after Easter!! LOL

Same thing for us. Half the time our colored eggs, end up becoming egg salad. lol

Well we colored them today because we'll be out of town this weekend and doing a plastic egg hunt where we're going. As soon as the decorations dried I put them in the fridge. I'll probably make egg salad to take with us.

I always put mine in the fridge pretty quickly too, but I DID read somewhere recently (this was about raw eggs, not hard boiled, so I have no idea how it changes it) but that an egg, can sit out at room temperature for up to 3 days before going bad... I am NOT volunteering to try it out, just saying what it read.. ;)
