I am having trouble in the Portfolio thread. I need to make my LOs link back to the gallery, and I just can't figure out how.
Thanks so much,
Alison

it's a multi-step process, so it's always hard to learn at first!
ok - you need to identify two things: the source of the picture to display in the thread, and the destination for someone who clicks on it. the picture file is put into an image tag [IMG], and the destination goes into the [URL] tag like this (remove the * for your own to work, they are just here so you can see what the tags look like!)
to specify the image location...go view your LO in the gallery, and then right-click on the picture of the LO. If you have mozilla, you just select "copy image location". If you have IE, you need to view properties and copy the image location from there. Then, in your post, just click on the little picture of a mountain and past the file location in there. It will automatically create the image tags like this:
[IMG*]https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/data/500/2010-03-mommy-pretzels.jpg[/IMG*]
you want to place the [URL] around it, so if someone clicks on the picture it will go to the gallery. so now go back to your LO and copy the path from the browser at the top. and put the URL tag around your image tag like this:
[*url=https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=128524&ppuser=7859][IMG*]https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/data/500/2010-03-mommy-pretzels.jpg[/IMG*][/url*]
Hope that helps!

after you use the picture button to put the [ IMG] code in, just highlight all the code it put in (from the begining of the [ IMG] to the end of it) and click the little earth button with a like chain link, up at the top of the post editor and it will prompt you for the URL you want to link to...
does that answer your question?
