Thought I'd start this for the week, mostly cuz I gotta toot!
I finally got my armband for my iPhone today. I had been running and just holding it, but I finally had enough swagbucks to get my Nike+ so I ordered the armband too. Took 6 days to get here, but as I was leaving work today, there it was in the mailroom. SO glad I took a second to check in there before we left.
So I thought I would give the Week 5 Day 3 workout a try. 5 minute warm up and cool down, with 20 minutes of straight running. I'd done the W5D2 run a few times, but thought I would test myself today and see how I did.
I RAN 17 OF THE 20 MINUTES!!! Including a solid 8 minute stretch in the middle! I AM SO EXCITED!!! It really goes to show you that we're stronger than we give ourselves credit for (and yes, I'm totally doing a layout to commemorate this day/run). I think the armband really had a lot to do with it. Before, I would get a little tired and check to see how much time I had left on the run segment. I always went a little further, but I also always stopped and never made it the whole time. Now I know I CAN! I'm gonna start just doing the longer timed runs using my Nike+ from now on, I'm really really excited. I'm hoping to do a 5K next month (my first!) with some friends in NYC, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to make it the whole time. Now I know I CAN!! WEEEEE!!!
Sorry for the novel, but I had to share. How's everyone else doing??

I love hearing the excitement in your post, it really makes me itch to exercise again!
I had a bad week - I had a medical procedure Friday and I'm just not recovering from it as fast as I thought I would and when I'm down like that it really brings out the munchies :-(

Way to go Col!!!!!
Woo hoo Col! Man that makes me wish that I could run again.
It's been an okay week. Had our anniversary on Friday night, so splurged, but I haven't gained too much. I know I can get back down by this weekend, so that makes me ok with it. If I can't have a little fun with food on my anniversary, well what else in life is there? LOL
But on the upside I did go for an 8k walk with DH and the dog before that dinner, so that's got to count for something.

Col, that's awesome.
I'm going without sugar this week: cutting out my 11-gummy bear and 12 oz Coke or Starbucks soy chai latte until Saturday. Then I may indulge in one treat if I've managed to lose more than 2 pounds. Then no more sugar until the following Saturday.
I started the 100 push-ups and 200-squats programs today (google them, they'll come up). By "started," I mean I took the initial tests. I was going to do the 200 sit-ups program but when I got to 120 in the initial test and only stopped because my 6-month-old started crying, I decided I probably don't need the program for that. Besides, I'm doing a core class once a week already and apparently my core is fairly strong.
I keep dropping out of the C25K program (Sorry, Heather!). I start up, finish week 1, and then quit. Don't know what my problem is!

Thanks guys :) I'm excited to run tomorrow now, so hopefully the weather will clear up and the rain will clear out.
Lucrecia, don't get down on yourself! Snack on some fruits and veggies instead and you'll be fine. :)
Kiki, and 8k walk totally counts! That's awesome! :) I'm not a fan of banishing all good food from your diet anyway. It's all about portion control and overall healthy eating. If I can't go out to eat every few months, or grab fast food during lunch on a whim, it's SO not worth it for me.
Joanna, good luck cutting out the sugar! It can be really hard, but I've heard you can get some great results sticking with it.

Wow, you guys are all doing so well! This is my first time posting in one of these threads, I just decided on Friday to start seriously walking again. I don't run, never did and don't think I ever will... I just wouldn't stick with it. But I am working on getting my walking time to 1km in 10 minutes, and will work on increasing distance as well as adding a bit of weight. My goal is to do a 10km walk in 100min with an added 15lbs of weight on my birthday in about 10.5 weeks.
So far I've got the 10min/km down, and today didn't have any shin splints! I've been doing 2km walks so far and am planning on mapping out a 3km walk for Thursday.
Joana, those programs sounds really great... I just might do the 200 sit-ups one too!

Monique, I totally swore I would never be a runner. And about 2 weeks after the last time I swore it, I started the Couch to 5k program, and now I love it, lol. Just sayin ;) Regardless, way to stick with it!
WOOT! Way to go Traci!!

I think this is my 1st time checking in here, too. I noticed a few weeks ago that I'm regaining the weight I lost, so I'm back to trying to lose. I made a good start, even used the treadmill 3 days in a row, then got sick. I was worried it would derail my exercise, but today was the first time I felt well enough, and I made it back onto the treadmill :) Not quite as good eating--I didn't eat badly, but I had the usual problem of counting points well until dinner, then losing track because while I feed the kids I barely have time to eat, never mind measure food and count. (I try to eat after they go to sleep, but some nights I'm too hungry to wait.) Oh well, I'll just have to hope the exercise is enough to make the counting problem matter less.

Thanks Colleen! We'll see how the walking goes, and who knows - maybe I'll start adding running to it later on :-)

Some of those walkers ain't messin' around. I get beat at races by them OFTEN, and that's with me running every step. lol
One time, in a 10k, I got beat by a 78 year old man who was power walking (yes, 78, I checked the results after). :glare:

Good work Liz! Keep up the great work!
Today was, oh, wait, no I had chocolate today. BUT it was only two oreos so improvement :D I bought a magnum and gave it to my bf instead... hehe.
Last night I had netball and tonight I had volleyball - tomorrow I might even do some wii fit in the morning.
I also did the initial test for the 100 pushup program. I managed ONE pushup. Hahaha. I was betting on none though, so not too shabby.

Just have to toot my own horn here - six weeks ago I began a six-week StrollerFit class called Restore the Core. In six weeks (and actually just 4 classes because I missed the third and fifth classes) I lost 10.5"!
SO excited to see such great results. The class was HARD and I never wanted to go, hated the whole thing, and was so glad when it was over (even though I LOVE the instructor). But I can tell a big difference in my core strength and, um, pelvic floor.
I may not get my pre-baby body back but I'm going to have one I'm proud of, dagnabbit.
Oh, and today's Thursday, day 4 of no sugar, and it is KILLING ME! And no caffeine by default, since my tea latte and soda are both the only caffeine I was getting and I had to cut them out for their sugar content.
Just 2 more days...2 more days.
