We found a place not to far from our house for pick your own blueberries @ 5.00 a pound. My husband said its like 4.00 for 5 ounces in the store. So obviously that is pretty cheap compared to the grocery store but is 5 bucks a pound alot for blueberries? We dont buy them alot because they tend to be icky by the time they get to the stores and just found this u-pick em place yesterday

I've just looked at my online supermarket and they are half price at the minute so £1.99 for 225g!! They are usually £3.99!

And according to the currency converter I used that's $3, or at full price $6!

I just checked my Dillon's (Kroger) ad and they have 6oz of fresh blueberries for $2.99 with your Plus Card thru today. I'm pretty sure their regular price for blueberries is close to $4.99 or more but we don't buy them too often either cause they are so darn expensive and I agree they aren't always the best quality by the time they get to the stores. So I'm thinking the u-pick-it place you found is a pretty good deal, wish we could find a place like that around here cause we love fresh blueberries (and most fruit for that matter)!

we dont have so many blueberry farms around us. Strawberries are more towards the west coast of Florida but we have tons and tons of orange groves LOL. So much so that I got tired of eating oranges as a kid because there was an orange grove directly behind my house. I still love orange juice but any kind of orange/citrusy type fruit I cannot eat. Everyone else here loves them though.

I want to grow blueberries here but because of our zone (borderline between 9 & 10) very few types of blueberries will grow here. Sometimes this summer we will also be loaded down with wild blackberries too because they are all over the place. Those are free ;)

Ours are expensive in the grocery store this time of year- $5 for 1/2 pound. When they're in season (in a few months) we can get a pound for $2.50 at a local orchard. But I have my own blueberry bush in my garden (and strawberries!!!) so I don't have to buy them once they're in season! :)
