So I am making a book and have like a month to finish it and have it printed. Im not doing a bound book plan on having the pages printed. So what I need first is some inspirational graduation type quotes or advice kinda stuff to include on some of the pages. Also should I do the whole book with one kit? Or maybe just make the pages facing each other look similar? It is my daughters graduation present. I plan on surprising her with it after graduation or maybe before so I want it to be really nice. ive never really done a book though and have only printed a few really special layouts. Anyhow kinda short time to finish so I thought if you have any finished projects to give me ideas or some quotes/advice that would be cute to add to the book?

Well, are you wanting it to be a specific theme (ie all of her 12th grade year, entire HS career, or say, her growing up?) If you're just doing school, then one or two kits would work....If you're going to kinda show her growing up, then obviously I think you'd need more kits - and two pagers would look good that way, imo.

Im doing it from pre-k to 12th grade actually. I was thinking two pagers would make it look best after laying it out side by side on the screen. I have a pretty good idea now of what I want to do but still need quotes and stuff. Inspirational type quotes and stuff pertaining to graduation kinda thing.
For elementary it is going to be really simple like what school she was in, who her teacher was, her best friend, favorite subjects etc. I finished the first page but she just came in from work so cant do it until she is in bed.
The facing page will be for kindy. Then once I get to middle school/high school Ill probably do two pages per year.

Too cute!!! Love the idea. :-)
You probably know about this site already, but I go HERE (http://www.scrapbook.com/quotes.php) if I want quotes, etc
Country music also always has really good quotes and lyrics that would be special for her.
I was thinking that it would be neat to photograph anything that was special for her at those particular moments - a favorite "lovey", a favorite song she danced to...her favorite dress, etc.?
What a special gift that will be for her.....I personally cant wait to see it! :-)

Im also going to a little section solely for prom this year because it was her senior prom. I already did a few pages for it. I thought about it and because of how fashion changes and how much she has changed what would fit for pre-k or kindy wouldnt be so great in middle school and so on which is why I decided to just make similar facing pages. Im really hoping she loves it as its really hard to keep it from her. She usually sees every page I make as soon as Im done LOL
At the end of the book Im going to have a personal letter from me to her...advice kinda stuff, telling her how proud shes made me etc. Might also include some of the layouts Ive done of her since I started digi scrapping that I have never printed.

I have a few layouts to finish up for my son who is graduating too - although since I've been scrapping for years, I have 4 huge albums already. I plan on doing a page with "My Wish" from Rascall Flatts and "These are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs.

I only started scrapping since she was 15 and she is 18 1/2 now so about 3 1/2 years now. I think she knows Im working on something with scrapping but isnt sure what. I have been talking with my husband about it and we came up with the idea to seperate it into sections with a seperate starting page for each of the sections with extra photos and such. So the sections will be something along the lines of these(havent decided if Ill use The or Your):
The/Your Elementary Years
The/Your Middle School Years
The/Your High School Years
Senior Year-The Final Stretch
Princess For A Night-Senior Prom 2010 (I figured since ive already done several pages for prom it should have its own section)
Letters of Love (this will be where mine and her dad's letters are)

Oh and Ive also used the song "I Hope You Dance" for my daughter. It is a little more appropriate for girls I think but it still has a really beautiful message which is similar to My Wish

Take a listen to Trace Adkins "You're gonna miss this". Might have some quotes you can use, but mostly will just make you cry as a parent ;) I have boys, and they're all under the age of 8 and this song makes me bawl.

Ummmm I am in LOVEEEE with Trace Adkins LOLOLOL First time I heard the song I cried. It came out right around the time my daughter was starting her senior year in high school and she seems sometimes like she is in such a hurry to grow up and when I heard the song I told her you know listen to this...this is what I have been trying to tell you.
You will miss this time...slow down...take your time being a kid because you have the rest of your life to be an adult

I must be PMSing, reading this is making me teary! This is such a great idea! I know your daughter will treasure it!
I wonder if my son would appreciate this or if I could even pull it off in time?? He officially graduated on Monday, but we aren't doing the celebration until early June.
