This story was retold to me by my son who was sitting with my husband when he did this:

My husband is not super computer literate and so alot of things he does not really understand or knnow how to do. Well I had to show him how to copy/paste when on the computer for like copying info or website addresses or email addresses (he mostly visits Craigslist so has to copy and paste email addresses from there). Sooo anyhow he went to respond to an ad and copied the email address and pasted it in the wrong spot in the email so he deleted it and then navigated all the way back to craigslist to recopy the email address. My son asked him why he spent all that time to navigate back and recopy the email address because he had not copied anything else and my husband said well once you paste it it is all used up right? You have to recopy it to paste it again somewhere else? I know its kinda mean because he does not have as much experience with computers as our kids and I do so I shouldn't laugh but that just totally cracked me up.

I did explain how the info is copied onto the clipboard and it stays until you copy something else or reboot. So now he knows. It took him a long time to learn what he does know now and for awhile I had to do that type of thing for him until I taught him how to select what he wanted copied and paste it.

hahaha!! My husband is the same way. I die at some of the confusion he has. My husband was applying for jobs and had to type into these online applications. Well, he is sometimes slow and it times out. So I had to explain copy and paste with the control-c and control-v but he apparently couldn't remember right. He finally came to me and said it wouldn't paste no matter how many times he tried. I asked him to show me what he was doing and saw he was pressing control-p instead. As soon as he pressed it, the printer spit out a paper. LOL... he had been telling it to print instead and had like 50 copies of partly done applications. I died. :D And what was super funny about that was the job he was applying for was to be an accountant and also to provide tech support for the accounting software for the rest of the personnel. Best he not get that job. LOL

I try not to laugh but sometimes I just cant help it. Especially when it took like three minutes to find the address he was looking for to recopy it. When he found out it was still there and didnt need to be recopied he laughed too. He is a pretty good sport about it and doesnt get upset.

Oh and I never tried to explain the cntl/c & cntl/v. I just told him to highlight and rightclick then hit copy and then rightclick and hit paste. Figured it would be easier that way

I have the opposite problem...my husband definitely knows more about some programs on the computer. Since he used to teach printing, he is a Photoshop whiz, so when I am stuck and can't figure something out I have to ask him. And then I get the "I do this stuff all day at work I don't want to do it at home" attitude, LOL! Luckily, I have gotten better at Photoshop and InDesign and don't have to yell for help very often.

Hahahaha!!!
In this case I'm probably the one who gets laughed at by my husband, simply because he's much smarter than me hehehehe...
