get out of school? For my daughter its already done as she graduates this year (hopefully...her school counseler "forgot" to change her class mid-year so she is missing a grade for a class she was not in!!)

The other two have their last day June 9th and dont head back until late August. Longggg days with them saying at least a million times IM BORED ahead of us LOL. Hopefully we will be able to get out a little more this summer.

Last day for JP is the 11th. D's done when we finish out the curriculum, so maybe early July. Of course, he only does school for about three hours a day, so it's stretched for him.

In WI, law states that the school year may not start until after September 1st unless the school has asked for a dispensation. So, they'll start their virtual school in September.

My daughter's last day of PreK was last Friday. My son gets out of elementary school on June 9th (and it's a half day). Our summer is actually really short this year, I think 6 weeks, b/c they're changing the calendar a little. They want semesters to end before Christmas break, so there's not a 2-week chunk of time lost. So we're starting back in early August.

Kids here are either done June 4th or the 7th. I think they were supposed to be done earlier but added a bunch of days due to all the horrible winter weather we had.

My kids get out on Thursday (well the one that graduated has been out a couple of weeks and is already working FT). I think its silly, its just a fun play week. Today was bubble day, tomorrow is Kinder graduation then Thursday is PJs & teddy bears.

Of course thats better than paying for FT daycare, not looking forward to that at ALL!

Our schools were out last week. Of course since Rachel doesn't even start pre--k until August, all that means to me is when we go out, there are alot of kids around (and I prefer school year LOL, when we can go out and do fun stuff without being overrun by the 'big kids')

I'm not a kid, but a teacher and TODAY WAS OUR LAST DAY....................WOOT! :) My kids and my students were done Friday and they return August 24th, while we go back about a week earlier.

I think that's perfect though. It used to be that way here, I don't know why they changed it. I have no problems with kids being in school all of august when it's 100+ degrees the whole month!

Yeah, it was put into place in 2001. I didn't even realize it was a law until a friend who teaches at one of the schools here said something to me. I always started school in September back in Jersey!

Last day for public school was last Thursday ... although my son's particular class got out on Wednesday. I can only remember ONE year that they were out before Memorial Day ... it's always like one or two 1/2 days after the holiday.

However the boys are not done with their homeschooling so they are in school full time until they get caught up. ...looking like there technically won't be a summer break at this rate ... but nice thing is when we go on vacation ... they can just sit in the back seat on that 20 hour drive to Arizona and work on school!!! They can bring their laptops to mom's house ... swim in the morning and then work on school during the heat of the day. :thumbup:

oh yeah they are so happy their mom is smart enough to put their schoolwork on a laptop so they can take their schoolwork with them anywhere ... ummm being sarcastic here ... in other words they can't get away from school. :crying:

My county gets out June 10th, the neighboring county (where most of our friends live, we live a mile from the county line) get out June 16th. We had 1 day of school in all of Feb due to the snow and it's effects on gravel roads but somehow they made up most of the days during March & April so we only had one day added to our schedule.

My kids go back Aug 17th, the neighboring couty starts the 25th.
