Yep, he'll be Finn Stephen....

Karsten James and Josiah Patrick are both named after hubby (Patrick James) so we decided to honor my dad with Stephen as this little guy's middle name. We <3 Finn so it's settled, though he might be Finley and we'll call him Finn. We like unusual (non top 100) baby names :)

Love Finn! My nephew is Finnegan, but we all call him Finn. Except my son likes to say, "Are we going to see Finn-again? Get it Finn-again ... Finnegan?" repeatedly cracking himself up.

Love Finley too! I know Finnegan Finns and Phineas Finns, but no Finleys. I like original names.

with the popularity of Glee, I think Finn will be in the top 30 for 2010 or 2011

I looked at 2010 so far and it's not even in the top 100 for this year, so we'll see. I doubt it though, that would be a serious jump!

(It's #145 on babycenter.com for 2010 and #343 on babycenter.com for the U.S. population for 2009)

oh, and we liked Finn after Josiah was born, so we didn't even think of Glee till we saw an ad for it on TV lol!!

This is the only site that matters for popularity (in the US):
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/

Its at 343 for 2009, each year the next one comes out around Mother's Day each year. Its the actual amount of babies born each year. Places like Babycenter, its just that site and usually how many people put the name on their list, not actually use. In the last 9 years, the name has jumped 500 spots. My opinion, just Finn.

Right, I used the baby center number for this year because they don't have census info for the whole year for the gov't at this point. But when you compare 2010 to 2009, to 2008 on baby center, it's not really jumping much LOL.

Its rare for a name to jump more than a few spots a year. Emma, Ava, etc, those names flew up the chart, but that doesn't happen too often.

Also not sure if you have looked, but on SS's site they also have the ranking for each state. Sometimes it makes a huge difference. Like my son's middle name, Jonah, is much higher up the chart in ND, then for the country.

Lots of great names.

Finley is actually on my list of names but I have it as a girl name.

I don't like common names but not ones that are completely off the wall either.
