My big boys have adjusted well-as have I.
Landen loves kindergarten-totally. He is enjoying his time there and has taken to a full day of school 5 days a week much better than I thought he would. He only went 4 days a week last year for half day.
How is C doing?

Mine go back today. Yay!! One has already left (Sophomore in HS) and Joy will be leaving in about 45 minutes for her first day of Middle School. Alex started college a few weeks ago -- but is living at home.

How is C doing?

SOOO much better than last year believe you me. He's talking to people, and happy to go etc. Granted, they've not done any work yet lol so we'll see how that goes, but we worked so hard over the summer I doubt there will be problems this year.

My oldest went back yesterday, and youngest today!

Now to get this house de cluttered and organised, then try and find a job to keep me busy for a few hours each week! :)

DS1 is back for his third week today. He is doing much better than last year (and has a much much much better teacher for him).

DS2 went one day to preschool last week, cried when I picked him up (he didn't want to leave) and as of yesterday has a fever of 103 so we are going to miss today and probably the rest of this week if he does like he normally does. Grrrrr. I don't know what to do for him. He just gets everything and not in a minor way! All summer long he was perfectly healthy, around other kids, going to the gym, going to church, playgrounds, McDs and whatever, but as soon as school starts...bam! Sick! Say a little healing prayer for him today, OK?!! He LOVES school and will be asking me about it!

my oldest 3 love it..Ry not so much

She's a mama's girl and daddy (he takes her) says she cries every day usually on the way to school :0/ I know she'll adjust eventually (in fact usually by Wed each week she's fine..then starts over on Mon/Tues) She's only 4..and pre-k here is full day so it might be a bit too much for her but I know we have to stick it out or we'll just start this mess over next year.

My kids went back today. They were excited but nervous, but I hope they are having a good day. My oldest is in 5th and youngest is starting 1st. I'm nervous about my youngest adjusting to being there all day.

My boys started today. Hubby went back to work today, too, after being off for a month. The house is very quiet right now (& I'm loving it!).

What I wouldn't do for a quiet house right now! Sounds lovely. I am in my 5th week of school (teaching) and so DS is in his 5th week of pre-school. For the 1st time today he said he didn't want to go. I can't blame him because neither do I! We had a great 3 day weekend which makes it harder to get back into the routine.

Garrett (2nd grade) is doing great. 2nd grade is a whole new world. More responsibility, more home work, number grades. It has been an adjustment for him but I can already tell how it has made him grow up a little.

Lance (K) is having a hard time. He doesn't have separation anxiety but just doesn't want to go to school. I think once they start doing more in class (he is bored) he will enjoy it more. But he is so worn out at the end of the day that it makes for stressful evenings.

Lilly has her first real day of preschool today, and Ava is just going Thursdays for the next few weeks (they do a gradual entry for JK)

My girls are in their 3rd week. They are loving it, but they're so super shy while they're there, then when they get home, they're just bursting to tell me all they did, and what they learned. Some mornings they don't want to go, and even if they are too shy to really participate that day, they still tell me they had fun at the end of the day - even though they're totally worn out!

I thought I'd be a total wreck when they started school, but I must have been so ready for this, because I am loving it too! :D

La, is Ce in first or second grade?

The adjustment for most kids to full day kindergarten is a rough one! They are just worn out. Just expect them to be tired and act that way for a couple months. Then about late October/November they will be in the full swing of it. Just expect their behaviors and attitudes are not going to be the greatest for a little bit. It is a big milestone!

Lily started today and I am SO excited for this year. She got a fab teacher and isn't in a split class (last year was grade 1/2 and not a great teacher for her..) I have a feeling it is going to be a great year for her :)

Keira started Kindergarten today and she was so excited. She doesn't get out until 3:55, so we'll see how the day went then.

This is my kids 3rd week. They are glad to be back to the routine but were glad to have a day off yesterday. They get another day off next Friday & then another day a couple weeks after that! I think we go back so early because the school system can't manage 3 solid weeks of classes without a day off.

we just got home from our first day ...

Quinten started kindergarten - he has shorter days this week, only about an hour each day, to adjust to the 2.5 hour days that start next week (not really, they have interviews to meet the teacher one-on-one during the other portion of the afternoons this week). He will be in the afternoons, and has an awesome teacher (she taught my oldest when he was in grade 5). And starting Monday, he gets to take the bus to school, so he is super excited (he's the only one of the three to get to take the bus, since we live "in town").
Xander is in grade 3, not too sure about his teacher (I haven't had to deal with her yet). He is in a 2/3 split, we'll see how his year goes. He has some friends in his class, so it's all good for him.
Jenna started grade 6, her last year in the elementary school. She is loving her new teacher, and has one of her best friends in her class.

man, it was hard getting going this morning. I mean, I've had to get up at the same time all summer, but I only had to get myself together, not 2-3 more kids. lol

My oldest loves school (2nd grade). Just not waking up. It is ugly in the morning. My middles loves Kindergarten too. In fact, he loves it so much that he kept telling us his foot was fine. In fact, it was broke in two places. Couldn't miss school he said.

Logan started today! Second grade and loving it! :) He is SO social that he is happiest when it's not summer. Missed the kids all summer long.

Jacob moves to college on Sept 19th but classes don't start until the end of Sept.

on our 4th week here. Abby LOVES school. Got her first homework packet today, she's supposed to do 1 page a day and she was quite irritated that I wouldn't let her just finish the packet.

OMG a 5.30 start that would kill me!

Our schools don't start until 9am thank goodness, so it's 7.30am get up for the high schoolers who have to get the bus at 8.15am and it's 8.00 for the youngest still at the village school which is just a couple of minutes in the car.

ETA the youngest started yesterday and the other two today, school didn't break up until 21st July though.

Mine went back yesterday. We had a great summer and for the most part, they all got along. The last two weeks though have been "so so". Normally they go back the third week of August here but they changed it this year (and cut out spring break). I think they were all ready to go yesterday (I know I was) LOL
