The family is joining Mark on his business trip and I'm wondering if anyone has some ideas of what the kiddos and I can do while we're down there.

I was there nearly 3 yrs ago....hmmm can't remember what we did! lol The tourist stuff - Country Music Hall of Fame, tour of some plantation (can't remember the name), tour of some presidents house. Ate some really yummy food....can't remember the name of the restaurant.
Wow - some help I am! Off to look at pictures and see if I can find names of places!
eta: We did the Grand Ole Opry too. Not really good places for young kids. The name of the yummy restaurant was Loveless. And the one plantation was Belle Meade. And it was Andrew Jackson's mansion that we toured as well.

Yup, Heather's in Nashville. She lives on the outskirts of Nashville proper, but I bet she'd have some ideas of things to do. Me, I went to her place when I went to Nashville! ;)

Yep, I live in Nashville - on the west side. The Opryland Hotel, Opry Mills Mall, General Jackson showboat and maybe the Opry House are closed due to the spring flood we had here. They will probably open around Christmas.
There is the riverfront park to visit, 2nd Ave downtown is historic and has lots of country music places. Already mentioned are the plantations, Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, Loveless Cafe (if you go there you MUST visit me!) and the Hermitage. There is the Zoo, Cheekwood (mansion, art museum, gardens, etc), and a waterpark on the east of town (blanking on the name). There are tons of parks, lakes and hiking trails. Then there is my house and ME! hehe

I was so bummed to hear that The Opryland Hotel wasn't going to open until Christmas. DD and I go every year to wander through and ooh and ahh at the Christmas decorations.

My mom, sister, and I do too.
:(
That sucks, I hadn't realized they were still closed.

YAY, thanks for the ideas! Heather, I'll send you a PM when I know better what our schedule is going to be like. I know there is going to be one evening that the families will be getting together for a "team meeting" ;) but I'm not sure when that's planned for yet. We'll be there the last week of September.
