this thread (https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45246&highlight=trash) from when I had just moved into the new apartment...
We've been here a lil over a month now.. and I'm happy to announce that we went from 3-4 trash bags a week... to 1.5 :-D I'm super proud of our reduction.. and felt that it was something I had to share LMAO.

Def getting use to the new recycling program helped tons.. I also started paying more attention to the packaging of foods/buying stuff that was recyclable vs crap. Obv there are some things that I have no choice- because we don't recycle ALL plastics.. but I think that's a super awesome reduction :]

That's great La! :)

Our county FINALLY implemented a reasonable recycling program. Single stream (aka everything in 1 container) and it can be a container we already own. It goes out once a week. Before everything had to be in a blue plastic bag, they alternated what they picked up when but didn't have a good calendar for such things easily available to the public. We do a lot of things around the house to decrease our environmental footprint, so I'm super happy they finally made it easy to recycle around here :)

That's awesome! I'm so proud of our city for starting curbside recycling. We don't even have to separate anything. It rocks!

Our city is FINALLY starting a curb-side recycling program as well. We should be getting our bins within the next few weeks. Woot!

It was a BIG shock coming over to Korea - where went went from 1 trash can to 6 - We have to separate everything - even food waste is composted here! Plastic, Glass, Paper, Food and Cans then there is a trash bag for everything else - that has to be put in a special bag you buy (and they charge a fortune for)
There is a $1,000 fine for not separating your trash (if you get caught - and they have cameras!!!)
So for just basic trash - it goes out maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks!
