My poor kiddos have both had a tummy bug and it's been awful--one of worst I can remember. :( DS is almost better but DD is still not feeling well at all. The vomiting has pretty much stopped but she's crying almost constantly from tummy pain. IDK what to do to help her. She's in a warm bath now, but she can't stay in forever, lol. Do you guys have home remedies for tummy aches?

Do they like mint?? Peppermint is a natural tummy soother. I like sipping on hot peppermint tea (just straight peppermint) when I don't feel well. Or they can suck on peppermint candies. Some times that can help.

Gingerale (made with real ginger) also helps settle tummies. Not sure if you have the brand, it's made by the Coca-Cola Co, called Canada Dry. It's the best one (that I've used) for tummy troubles. Shweppes is too sweet and doesn't help me.

That's what I was going to suggest - peppermint and ginger ale. I've taken Tums for stomach pain and I think it should be fine for kids. Hope she feels better soon.

ETA: I probably should have said peppermint OR ginger ale. I wasn't suggesting both at the same time.

heating pad or a hot water bottle will help, while not as good as the bath it will still help!! The only time's I've ever had bad tummies is from morning sickness and saltines and sour lemonade always helped me!!! Pickles too....something about the sour I think helped counter act the acid!!! Hope she feels better soon Jennifer!!!!

ginger ale to calm their tummies. Sometimes Ill drink milk too but that might not work for everyone.

the b.r.a.t. diet bananas, rice, applesauce & toast once they feel like eating until their tummies are back to normal

Thank you so much! Sending out for Ginger ale now and may try other ideas, too. I appreciate how quick and helpful you are! <3

I would definitely get some children's probiotics. They'll help balance the bacteria in their digestive systems back to normal. You can get powered live bacteria (must be kept in the fridge) and add the recommended dosage to their drinks. It has no taste. My kids don't know I've ever given it to them. ;)

I have been known to use Papaya Enzyme pills. They work wonders on my sour stomach! They are chewable and taste like fruit. I usually pop about 3 at a time but I imagine with a child you could give them part of one. They are over in the vitamin section. Literally, what saved me during my second pregnancy morning sickness.
