I chose interchange, because here in Australia we call it Autumn, but my us friends refer to it as fall, so I chop and change between the two depending who I'm talking to I guess lol

Well my husband and I joke around and say its the "cool season". Since Florida seems to have a "cool" (fall & winter) season and a hot (spring and summer) season.

But for this poll I put fall since thats what I've always heard it called growing up.

I use both for some reason.

I use both interchangeably, often in the same sentence.

"It was just the Autumn Equinox so I am looking forward to the cool the fall weather."

"I think when we do the fall harvest festival next autumn we should rent a bounce house."

"My favorite time of year is autumn"

"I love the leaves in the fall."

Whatever seems to work best in the sentence.

I don't think I have EVER used the word Autumn in a sentence until right now. I hadn't even HEARD of Autumn until I moved to Kansas....and it was years later.

This is a nice article on fall vs. autumn. I really like how language evolves. :-)

Everyone around here uses the word "Fall." I've always kind of gotten weird looks for using Autumn, but then, I don't even get American slang half the time.

I use both pretty regularly. It's my favorite season, and "autumn" just sounds prettier.

Well I chose the last one, cause it goes from summer to winter. There's not really a Fall/Autumn. And once mid Sept hits I call it the holiday Season and start my decorating :)

Autumn. People would give me strange looks if I said Fall, although I do sometimes use it in digi-land cos that's what most people use.

I use both, but probably Autumn more than Fall. Canadian English tends towards UK English rather than American English.

We say Fall here (but I do love the way Autumn sounds) because as soon as it comes you want to fall over from the allergies here. Oye! Pass the sudafed!

I use both, but I prefer Autumn...comes from being corrected so many times as a child by my grandmother.
