I just did.

super sucks.

I borrowed some fancy noise-cancelling headphones from a friend of mine for my trip to Asia (the flights to Shanghai took almost a full 24 hrs!)...i LOVED them!! very comfortable, and I couldn't even hear the baby crying 3 rows in front of me :)

Then yesterday I got that horrible sick feeling when I realized that the last place I recall seeing them was in the seat pocket of one of the flights i took last week (from one country to another). I arrived at my hotel, looked through every bag I had with me, and confirmed that they are gone.

I left them on the plane last week.

So now I have to buy a ridiculously expensive set of headphones to replace the ones I lost. I never would have bought them for myself in the first place! *sigh*...I'm so ticked at myself for not being more careful with them! :glare:

anyone do something similarly bad and lose something they borrowed???

Argh! I hate when that happens. Sort of different but I was borrowing our apple magic mouse from the home computer when I first got my macbook.. and then one day as I was transporting my laptop etc to work, I dropped it and it smashed.

$99 later, I decided I'd stick with my trackpad.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Would have been better spending the dosh if it was for a pair for you

Oh that does suck!!! Any chance calling the airline to see if they are in lost and found? I hope it doesn't ruin the rest of your trip. Safe travels!

library books. I know it's not on the same scale...but we've had to replace a few in our time *sigh*

Library books. School books. Books borrowed from friends that kids destroyed.

Oh! I once borrowed a purse from a friend and left it at the mall! I was a teenager at the time, but yeah....

Many years ago, my husband borrowed the neighbor's car for some reason and got into an accident, totaling the car. The insurance company paid them low blue book value, which they weren't happy with. We ended up paying them $500 to make it up to them. They were satisfied with that, but our neighborly relationship wasn't ever the same after that. I told my husband we'd never ever borrow a car from a friend again.

nope never borrowed anything like that...I have lost library books many times though.

I have had people borrow from me though and not return it. One time in particular still makes me mad. I lent my sister a brand new pair of jeans and a brand new sweatshirt and after asking for them back several times she finally just told me she is not giving them back. So I said fine if you arent going to give them back then you need to give me the money for them to replace them because they were brand new when you got them to which she said no. Never got the clothes back or the money to replace them. I never lent my sister a single thing again. (and this was when she was in her late 20's not as a kid!!)
