Oh My Word!
It is crank city over here. Daylight Savings Time should be banned.
Whoever said you get an extra hour when you "fall back" obviously did not have kids.

Same here.
But since it is dark they will be going to bed right after baths. I don't care if it will only be 6:30.

doesn't effect them quite as bad when they are older but I feel like it should almost be bed time and it is only 7:00.

So true! My older 2 are okay (though tired), but the toddler has been a crank all day! Of course, I went to bed an hour later to get more DSD time even though I knew full well they wouldn't be sleeping in an hour. I'm dreading tomorrow, since a school day is when we'll feel the difference here.

Totally agreed...I've had a whining clinging 20-month old tugging on my leg and begging to be picked up/paid attention to every.single.second all day! I love her to pieces, but breathing room is sometimes required. :)

I'm not cursing but only because I live in Arizona, we stay the same all year round.

I should ban it, too. We had it a week earlier than you all in the U.S. and still I'm suffering...

Yep, a week ago here as well and still suffering from it! The baby now wakes up somewhere between 5.30 and 6.30 instead of 7! Ugh!

I'm a big fan of daylight saving time. Nothing beats having light until 22:00 in the summer evenings, sorry. I feel like somebody beat me on the head any morning, so I don't see any difference since the time has changed.

Well I have a sick one too so who knows if it is because of the time change or what! And yep don't you just love it when people say "Yay we get an extra hour of sleep!" and you're like "Not unless I drug my child!" Then the week-long crankies begin! I'm betting it will be a bad week for the teachers as well!

My kids were up earlier yesterday but it worked out for us in the afternoon so they went to bed at regular time last night. They were probably a bit more tired during lunch and ready for naps but last night/this am was a breeze...I know I"m so lucky I have pretty resilient kids..but I'm paying for it with this dog lol

My kids usually do ok, I try to beat them out that day, so they are extra tired and adjust quickly LOL.
I went to bed at 10:45 which is REALLY early for me, as most of you know, but I worked 8 hours unpacking and moving boxes and stuff for work yesterday. So I'm not sure if I was just pooped from that, or the combination. I was awake myself at 6:30 this morning though LOL.

Totally agree. Before kids I loved it, but now it is wayyyyyy more hassle than it is worth. Yesterday my dd was so cranky and this morning, both my boys were up at 5:30 am.

HATE IT! I need daylight in the evening, it's ridiculous to feel so sleepy at 7pm!

Totally with you! My kids insisted on waking up sooo frigging early the past 2 mornings! And they still want to go to bed their normal time, it's not like they want to go to bed an hour early. And my afternoon napper thinks it's naptime way earlier now, her schedule is so off.
Daylight Savings time is a big joke anyway, we should start a petition to do away with it! lol

Whoever invented daylight savings time did not have children. Period.
Mine will adjust but it takes a few days and it throws everything off.

I'm one of the few that love it! It doesn't seem to affect my kids much though and I loved that the sun was up when we left this morning, I hate dropping them off at school in the dark! And in the summer I enjoy the extra light in the evenings.

I am in the minority too I love it!! :D I started putting my kids to bed an hour earlier the week before and they are not having a problem with it at all. Except they are waking up at 7 am now but that will soon wear off. I love that I have some light out in the morning. :D

We don't "do" daylight savings in Arizona, and I wish the rest of the country would do away with it because I'm tired of people asking me "what time is it there?"

This made me LOL. This morning my daughter was telling me that I clearly didn't care that she was starving since I was so late giving her breakfast. I said no I'm not and she said "Um yes, it's light out"

About a week ago my 4 year old started sleeping in. I was going to wake him up one morning to go to our 'activity' and thought...wait a minute...he's adjusting himself to the time!!! So I let him be. All last week I started sliding his bedtime about 10 minutes each day, so by Sunday he was in the right place. He's done this in years past too. Oddly, he seems to have an intuitive feeling about the time change! Now Mommy...on the other hand..

I am SO thankful that Saskatchewan doesn't change time. The government was talking of going on DST but so many protested it, they decided not to! Good thing. I would have been upset if they had - I love not changing time. It's hard enough when we travel out of the province.
