Finally, I tried to make the haystacks again last night, and they turned out just fine! lol, I microwaved again, since I wasn't sure exactly how to go about doing it on the stove - but I stopped the micro every 10 seconds to stir and see how it was doing. It melted perfectly this time, not sure what was up with the crumbling last time, but I was so relieved it turned out... Here's a pic of one of the cookies(not sure if they're technically cookies or not...), :D it was my pic of the day last night!

Again, thanks for all the tips ladies!

OOooooo.....I LOVE those!!!

My melting issues are usually better by putting a little veg.oil in the chocolate...also makes it shiny and pretty ;)

Now I have a craving...... :)

Yay! They look yummy. I've never been able to melt chocolate on the stove - microwave is the only way I can do it too.

Yup i'm pretty excited! I did half semisweet chips and half butterscotch chips. I'm pretty optimistic about trying fudge now too.

oooh fudge! Just a note...when making fudge, read the labels really carefully...my mom one year put double the amoutn of milk in hers so it never set up....but it amde great ice cream topping...she has not made fudge since, lol!
