Something is wrong with my layers in

CS3.

Everytime I go to move a layer it jumps to a different one, like the background. If my mouse happens to be over anything it'll just select that layer. One of my layers I can't move at all with the mouse, I have to use the arrow keys. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Do you have the box on the move tool checked for auto select layer? That's what it sounds like to me.

Up in the upper left, when you have the move tool selected, there's a box. If it's checked it will automatically select the layer. Could that be it?
