So I was just cleaning out my email inbox and I found an email newsletter from a digital scrapbook designer who I've never ever heard of. I know I didn't sign up for their mailing list and based on the images of their products, there is no way I would have purchased from them either. They don't seem to be from any major store either and this was very clearly only for their products anyway.
Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm really curious as to how they got my email address or why they thought it was appropriate to just sign me up for their emails. I tried their unsubscribe link and it went to a page that doesn't seem to be set up correctly.

No, I haven't. But I think you should stop it with your inbox and just go ahead and finish up that website of yours. I just listened to TDS last night, and I'm getting very impatient waiting. ; )

i friended someone on FB and that weekend i had a mysterious newsletter in my inbox. i know i'd never been to the store she was selling at either.
guess who's not my friend on FB anymore :p
That is really strange. I remember hearing something similar awhile back - maybe on DST? Someone had sold their mailing list. I can't remember the details and can't find it now, so maybe I dreamed it ... hmm ...

OMG, that's terrible! It's bad enough when big companies do it, but digi-designers! sheesh!

Hmm, I wonder if it's all from the same girl. I'm pretty sure it's from Facebook too since I did find her in my friends list. I sent her email asking how I got signed up for the email and letting her know that if she is taking emails off Facebook, that's probably not a good idea. I think maybe it's an innocent mistake but we'll see what she says.
And LOL Kellie, believe me, if I could ignore email forever, I totally would. This mornings inbox clean-out was just an attempt to get a bit of my sanity back. LOL

I don't know where mine is from, but Facebook now seems likely. I have bought from this person before, but I only use one address when I purchase on line, and I keep getting the newsletter to my other email address. It's annoying because it's going to the email that gets sent to my phone and I really only want to use that one for customer service and personal friend type stuff. Not online shopping, etc. I keep getting the newsletter to my phone and it takes bandwidth (I don't have unlimited data on my phone) but it is the email on my facebook, so... yeah. Guess I'll have to figure out how to block from Gmail...

Can someone message me the person who they think it is? I want to make sure if she is on my friends list that I remove her.

Me too please, if you don't mind. :)

This happened to me recently I added someone as a friend on FB that I knew was a fellow scrapper, then I get newsletters from her. I mean, I have NEVER shopped at the store, I know from the quality of the product that I never would. The only way she would have gotten my email address would have been from another store (doubtful) or got it from my FB page.
I deleted her as a friend too. I was not even slightly impressed. I emailed her and told her that I had not signed up for her emails and wanted to be deleted immediately.

She did respond by saying she was sorry I got the emails and that she would remove me. And she did. But that's not the point. Who on earth thinks that's a good way to get business? It bugged me.
