So this morning, I woke up with this really intense pressure... like on the verge of pain in my left cheek bone. I can feel it in my teeth, but I don't think it's a toothache. It's mostly right up under my eye socket. I don't have any other symptoms though... no fever, runny nose, cough, nothing... Wondering if it's a sinus infection? Have any of you guys experienced anything like this, and were you able to do anything to relieve the pain?
We're going out to the Air Force base tomorrow to (hopefully) get me added to Jeff's insurance, so I should be able to start going to the dr again soon when stuff like this happens.

it sounds like sinuses to me... have you tried using a neti pot?

yep- sounds like sinuses to me. Try a neti-pot and some decongestants. Hope you feel better!

Every time I've had a sinun infection, I've had pain in my teeth. Have you been sick at all lately? I usually get them right after a cold.

This happens to me a lot - sinus pain but no other symptoms. I usually take Motrin and Sudafed (the pseudoephedrine kind you get from behind the pharmacy counter). If the pain is really bad, I've found an icepack can help until the pain meds kick in. Or if you have a humidifier, that can help too. But I've never tried Neti-pots because the idea of them really freaks me out, haha.

I think one winter, I had a sinus infection, for the entire season.
I always think it feels good to lay a warm wash cloth on my face & press down slightly. Usually between the eyebrows & on each side of the nose under the eyes. or taking a super hot shower & letting the water run on my face. (which works kinda like a humidifier)
Any decongestant/pain reliver, Tylenol Severe allergy or sinus. Saline nasal spray. Vicks.

I get sinus pain quite often (the joys of Ky weather). One thing to note, is that the pain doesn't necessarily mean an infection. Sometimes the pressure is just there because you're stuffy or congested. Either way it hurts, though. Things that help me are the things already mentioned, a hot wash cloth or shower, cold packs sometimes help. If it's just one one side of my face or head, I'll lay down on the opposite side, and let gravity do it's thing. When I do that I can actually feel the pressure ease a little at a time. And I also always have Tylenol or Advil Sinus on hand for when those things don't work.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have a neti pot (and like Lynnette, that sorta creeps me out a little. LOL), but I did take some sinus meds (the good stuff from behind the counter), and I'll try the washcloth thing, too. I can't believe I've never had anything like this before, so I appreciate you guys giving me some advice! :)

i find the neti pot irritates it. so i don't use it. i pop advils and i use a heating pad on my face - laying on the opposite side that is in pain. hope you feel better soon.

early this year i went to the dr. because i had the same pain in my jaw for like a week. i also had the regular sinus pressure and what not but i was kinda freaked out about the jaw thing. come to find out i did have a sinus infection and the infection was impacted in my jaw. ew.
once i got some antibiotics in me the pain went right away :)

Sounds like the sinus infection I had last week. The doctor recommended taking both Mucinex and Zyrtec - one to loosen it up and one to dry it up. I worked like a dream for the pressure.
I use a sinus rinse, similar to the neti-pot I think. You just squirt the water/saline solution up one side and it drains out the other and then you switch sides.
I find it works really well as a decongestant, but also as a nasal moisturizer as well. My nose gets really really dry this time of year.

Welcome to my life - seriously I have the worst sinus problems. It happens all year around but this is the worst season, from now 'til about May. Fun, right? Yes, stock up on the 'good' Sudafed. Tylenol also makes a night-time sinus medicine that's pretty good, should you need it to sleep. Sorry, hun, hope you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone! I can still feel it today, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was yesterday. I ended up doing the sudafed as well as the hot shower and a hot wash cloth. It was like I could feel it actually loosening up. Whew! I feel bad for you guys who deal with it regularly because it's not pleasant at all!

Me too, I get it year round, and I just learned to live with it. I like the Tylenol Sinus stuff the best, it works best for me. I lie down on the side that hurts, with an ice pack between my head and my pillow. I slept this way last night actually LOL.

Yep same here, year round. Tylenol Sinus used to be one of my favorites too until they messed with the ingredients in order to avoid having it be behind the pharmacy counter. Now it doesn't do anything for me.

Take some Mucinex also!
I have a blocked sinus window in my nose. My inner nose bone is crooked and so that side can't drain. It sucks because then if I get an ear infection that fluid also gets trapped. I just finished my 2nd round of antibiotics and went to the Dr. today to get a cortisone shot to hopefully clear this stuff out.
Stay on top of it because you don't want it to develop into bronchitis.
