View Full Version : What are you asking for this Christmas?

Usually I want something camera related, but aside from a camera upgrade, which we can't afford right now, I don't need anything like that.

I want a couple things, and I think we're going to have a $150, we always try and set a limit. I know I want Sims3 for the Wii and a couple CD's.

What are you asking for.

I have a HUGE wish list...guess that's why they call it "wish." :p

I'd love to have a wear-everyday-type-necklace like this:

http://www.thevintagepearl.com/Images/Catalog/Products/layeredmotherofpearl.jpg (http://www.thevintagepearl.com/products/layeredmotherofpearl_p8)

Really want a new lens:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51f3CqJN4jL._SL500_AA300_.jpg (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O161X0/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A1J7WSBJHTGUFA)

This perfume. I'm not a perfume girl, but I LOVE this one:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_K1DDDIRijgg/TKeq0Gm8JzI/AAAAAAAAAcE/joZPB5GgaH4/s1600/dkny-pure-bottle.jpg

I would like to have some new running clothes and a new bag, too. More than likely, I may end up with a necklace and nothing else. That's ok with me, though. Hubby and I don't usually do much for each other for Christmas. ;)

eta: perfume and I reserve the right to add on as desired. :p

I've asked for a camera for the last 2 birthdays and Christmas, so I see no reason why I should get what I want this year either

Lots of stuff on my wishlist, but I think we're going to do just the kids this year since we JUST bought a house... I'm thinking the budget is going to be a bit slim this year. Honestly though, I couldn't care less about "things" for Christmas. I'm just happy to be in the States and have my hubby home with us. Last year the holidays were HORRIBLE!

This is the list I gave hubby... and I know I'll only get ONE thing from it. :)

A FoodSaver, boots, camera bag, or a bench for my family room. :)

Our budget is a little larger than normal this year so DH gave me a choice of an iPad or a new laptop so I'm getting a new laptop! Mine is way too small (HD space) and is 5 years old. Time to give it to DH and get me a new one. I really wanted a Mac but that's not in the budget so I'm window shopping now. He is going to get the iPad so I'll still be able to use that.

A mother's/family ring.
Portriats done by an awesome photog
A trip to the Michaels/JoAnns
A GOOD chef's knife
A couple new cookbooks

We don't exchange gifts anymore, we just wait til we get our tax refund back in February and then we get to splurge on something we really want (which for me this year is a camera upgrade!). But our parents usually give us a little money for Christmas to spend on ourselves and I love this necklace so I may end up getting it with my $ -

I was thinking about asking for a DSLR camera, but I think instead I'm going to ask for a bank account to be set up with a small deposit so that we can actually start saving for my piano. We are still probably a few years out from actually making a purchase, but we need to get serious about setting money aside for it.

-Membership to clickinmoms.com
-Kelly Moore B-hobo bag in gray
-Carl Larsson calendar
-GC to Gap, Bath & Body Works, Barnes & Noble

I doubt I"ll get the Kelly Moore bag - but it doesn't hurt to ask!

Usually DH and I do small gifts for each other, something in the $25-50 range. But I've been saving for a new laptop, and I've just about got enough for it. I'll probably buy on Black Friday or in the after Christmas clearance sales, so that'll be my gift this year.

"Wreck This Book" by Keri Smith (it's a book that has different prompts on each page... like "Stand here and wipe your feet on this page." "Tie a string around this book and drag it behind you as you go for a walk." "Rest your coffee mug on this page.")

A lovely orange sapphire necklace I saw on overstock for about $35.

Anything by Rumi (Sufi prophet/philosopher).

My list changes daily.

The one thing for sure that I want is the canon 35mm lens. Anything other than that will be a surprise. My DH did try to subtly ask what type of macbook would work for our family.

If you don't get your fondue pot, check the after Christmas sales. I buy a new one every year... I have 5 now (including a fountain that I got as a gift, a ceramic full size, a metal full size, and two miniature ceramic fondue for two sets- one round, one heart shaped).

Hmmm... I really like those necklaces!! Maybe I'll have to ask for one of those...

I usually get a coach purse, but I got two in Jan when we were in Aurora, IL at the outlet.

So I do want a Silhouette cutter, my fingers will be very happy about that. :) Still thinking about what I would like in addition... Maybe a lens, but not sure what to get still need to do some research...

we don't really exchange gifts here and only give to the kids, though we usually say our home renovation purchases are our Christmas presents, lol.

Yeah, we're not spending a lot because we gutted the kitchen when we bought our house in May, so all the extra money we had went to the house. I already got all the kids gifts, I'm almost finished with stocking stuffers, I think, for them anyhow.

This is my list:
Saucepan
Airbake Cookie Sheet
Floor Mats for my car
Gift certificate for gas, restaurants, walmart and Victorias Secret

I have no dh, so no gift that way. ;) Just what my parents, grandparents , siblings and best friend want to know what to buy.

We have a bit bigger budget this year, which is nice for a change.

I've asked for an iPad, and I already ordered myself a hot pink Miami Dolphins jacket, and a Miami Dolphins winter hat. So I'm done :)

Tony is getting a Rebel T2i, he needs an upgrade from his XTi. I will get him possibly a NE Patriots sweatshirt, I get him one every year, but otherwise, he's done too LOL

Honestly I haven't really thought about it.
I do want a new toaster oven. Other than that I don't really have a list.
Well there is one thing, but it has to do with the baby's room so I wouldn't exactly say it's specifically for me. lol I've been eyeing this AMAZING glider since I got pregnant.

Well, I have a huge list! lol But, what I know what I'm getting. We're redoing our bedroom. Not new furniture, but all new bedding, sheets, paint, handles on furniture, pictures, decor, etc. I've been wanting to redo for awhile, so that's my big gift this year.

you know what? if there is anything i REGRET not buying with my first was a good rocking chair/glider. I just didn't want to spend the $$. I really regretted it and never did buy one. I had one with my 2nd and I seriously think it was the best purchase (next to my baby wrap hehe).

It might be for you too - those last few weeks of pregnancy where you can't get comfy you might want to try out the glider for rest hehe :)

I want a bed for christmas.. I am pretty sure hubby and his friend are going to try and make one from the knock off wood site.. I have never had a real bed so I would love that :)

It is most definitely for you...you can't even imagine how much time you are gonna spend there, hours upon hours...it needs to be comfy!!! :D

DH and I aren't able to exchange presents this year, but my Dad always gives each of us some money. So this is my wish list for that-

lasagna pan... I could use a suggestion on this because I want one with high sides so it stops overflowing when I make lasagna.
photography class from Jessica Sprague
books from Amazon
pair of boots

Have you checked out this (http://www.bakersedge.com/) pan, Julie?

I don't have it, but I have the brownie pan and I love it.

Great minds, Shawna! I got my sister that necklace minus the camera charm for Christmas. :) It just came yesterday and I can't wait to give it to her!!!

I think dh is getting me a KitchenAid mixer. We've been talking about getting one for months now and since I don't need anything camera- or computerelated, I think that's what we're going to do. :)

this year its not so much what I am asking for but more what I am buying myself - 2 Jessica Sprague Classes and probably knowing me more SSD goodies (I have the money saved up already so when she does her holiday sale I can get them then even though the classes aren't til next year)

One of the courses will be Digi in Deep as I want to do the Art of Digital Design in Feb - lets hope I know enough about PS by then

Pretty sure I'm getting my boyfriend a Mini Doughnut Maker, speaking of kitchen. He's all about the kitchen gadget, but most of his he lost to his ex girlfriend. :( Kind of bummed, so I want to work on replacing them, and adding to the collection!

I told DH all I wanted was amazon gift cards and if he insisted on getting me something 'tangible' I wanted some nice earrings. We're keeping christmas very small this year because we're saving to go to the RE in the spring and need the funds for that

I actually now remember what I asked for - a foot spa. Being larger sized it is harder to take care of my feet so they often get ignored and I also thought it would be good relief after a full shift of nursing or nursing training next year.

Are you already on ClickinMoms? or not yet? If not yet, I will say it is worth every penny (if you really read the forums and practice and learn.) I haven't even signed up for a class and I can say I am fully manual now! There is so much info there and I'm going to ask for a renewal for Christmas! DH doesn't quite understand this, but is happy he doesn't have to shop!

Other than this...maybe a new coffee maker (still not sure about it though since my old one still works) and Starbucks GCs (so I don't feel so bad about going there 3 times a week for a while!)

I've been really wanting to upgrade my camera, but decided to do the responsible thing and start saving money to buy one so it will be about another year and a half, but I need to learn more/practice more with what I already have! It is just so easy to think that better equipment will automatically make my kiddos smile and every shot come out perfect!
