my oldest 2 and I hope to see it this weekend sometime. We were going to go on Thanksgiving but some plans changed and my little ones are too young for it so we'll be seeing something else.

Who else is going?

So how old of kids are you taking? My DS has seen the others on tv but I think he saw the last one on video. I'm wondering about this one though with a sex scene! Don't want to explain stuff already.

We're planning to go sometime this weekend. I was hoping for Saturday night but now it looks like it may be Sunday night instead. I can't wait!!!

I think this is the first one I didn't go to the premier. :( I always go with Jacob and since he is at college, I don't have my movie buddy. Hoping it works out to go over Thanksgiving weekend when he is home from school.

And sex scene?! That wasn't in the book!

From what I've heard, it's not a sex scene.

Andrew wants to see the movie with his dad (they've seen all the others together), so he's going to wait until we can visit. The boys won't see this for quite some time. They're just not old/mature enough for it.

My son is sitting at the theater now waiting for the midnight showing - He's been there since 9pm. I'm going in the morning. By myself. My little guys aren't into it and none of my friends like it, so I have no one else to go with. I'm actually looking forward to going alone. ;)

My dd is 12, she's read all the books, and seen all the movies thus far. I was going to take her to the midnight showing tonight, but the tickets sold out in like an hour. O_o

Hey if anyone sees it, could you let me know about what scene the movie leaves off with? I want to listen to the audio book up to the point of where the movie breaks off. Thanks!

We'll be trying to fit it in sometime this coming week when we have a built-in babysitter for the little dude. I can't wait! This will be Connor's first time to get to see a Potter movie at the theater and he's beyond excited!

I want to see it, but I hate crowds, so we may wait until closer to Christmas and let the crowds die a bit. There's never been a movie I've wanted to see so bad I'll do the midnight showing. I just don't think I could even enjoy it.

I've been yesterday to some HP-marathon-movie-kind, they had the other 6 movies in a row at the theater in 2 days. I've seen just the "Half Blood Prince" one, anyway. I'm going next week with my bf and my lil sister. And I got to say I'm pretty excited lol

It was crazy here in Orlando. Universal Studios-Citywalk had HP playing on all 20 screens at midnight. They had it on the news and there were some huge crowds there. I know my daughter will want to go see it and so does my husband but I am just not into Harry Potter.

We're going tomorrow. Can't wait -- although I have to admit I've been disappointed by every movie so far! Not that they weren't good movies, but they just can never capture the books.

Just got back a couple of hours ago. It was heavenly sitting in a large theater with only about 25 people, all alone. :) Can't wait for the next one!

No different this time. My son hadn't read the book, so I was filling him in on some of the things they left out. I seriously LOVE the books. I've read them 4 times and I know I'll read them again.

We'll be going ... just not sure WHEN. Got a lot on my plate right now so we'll just have to see ... really wish the boys had read the book first. I've got 2 free movie tickets (thank you pop tarts!) ... so I'll only have to pay for myself.

I knew it was sometime around there. I was watching a news show last night -Nightline I think- and they had the boy who played Draco Malfoy and he said what day it would be released and I could only remember it was in the middle of July 2011.

The NEXT movie is going to be amazing!

My youngest saw it last night. He left right after work (about 6pm) and headed over to get in line with the masses. He said it was the best so far of all the movies! One of my other boys is going tonight (is there right now actually) with his girlfriend. Another son wants to go, and I'll probably go with him on Sunday during football, since neither of us watch football! I can't wait!

I have only read the first 2 books of the series so with that being said I didn't hate the movie. But I was not as impressed as everybody else has been so far. The first half of the movie was pretty slow for me but it did finally pick up. I did like the movie and will see it again though.

I saw the movie, and that scene seemed to happen just like in the book. What am I missing?

I went through the book and it IS in the book! I saw the movie today and that part is pretty much exactly like the book was.

Good movie. I always like the book better. LOL But I thought they kept to the book pretty well, just editing it for clarity and to help shorten it up. The things they changed actually helped the story along and didn't effect the overall story in my opinion.

One thing I thought was weird...I don't think they used the Invisibility Cloak once and that is one of the Deathly Hallows. They didn't even mention it when they found out about the symbol, did they? In the book they use that every time they go from place to place. And one part they seem to be leaving out is all the stuff about Dumbledore's life - his mom and sister and how they died, etc.

I've read the book 4 times but I feel like I need to read it again after seeing the movie and then again before the next movie.

Paula

Another thing that I didn't like was Voldemort using the wand at the end. The wand doesn't work for him which is why he kills who he kills because he thinks it will pass the power on to him. Voldemort was never the rightful owner of the elder wand, so it wouldn't work properly for him which was why he was getting so frustrated.

As for the H/H scene, that scene is in the book, but it's a PG version. In the book, it never said in the book that Harry and Hermione were naked and making out. It only taunted Ron about Hermione choosing Harry (the stronger wizard).

I saw it last Sunday, and I loved it. I can't wait for the last one!

I do think that everyone should read the books though, because there is no way they can fit everything in the movies that were in the book. I think the 6th movie was the worst for that! And the books are great.

You're right! They only shared a pointed look when the cloak was mentioned as a Deathly Hallow. Never talked about it in the movie. Must be for the next movie.

And I think I saw a "mistake" in the movie. When Harry was in Umbridge's office in the Ministry, he was looking through some files and saw one that was Dumbledore with his stats and picture (with an x through it). His stats said he was half-blood, which is wrong, he was pure blood.

Paula

I totally agree here. I really loved the books and there is SO much information in there that can't possibly be put in the movies.

Question for those who have seen it...would you take an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old to this movie? My daughters want to see it really bad (they have seen all of the other ones). Are there any inappropriate scenes or a lot of violence? They are both pretty much fearless, so they don't get scared with these type of movies.

Personally, I would not. But then I'm very, very strict with what movies my boys can see. I don't automatically let my boys see PG-13 movies when they turn 13 - I have to check them out first. So it would be very rare for me to let them see a PG-13 movie younger than 13. But that's just me.

[SPOILER ALERT!]

I took my kids who are 10 and 8, but they have read the books. There are some pretty violent scenes -- Hermione is tortured by someone carving words into her arm with a knife (though you really only see a glimpse of it), several people are murdered with curses and you see the dead body, Dobby is killed with a thrown knife and you see him bleed and die, there's a horror-movie-type scene with a lot of gore blood splashed on the walls and flies where you know know someone has been brutally murdered (my son covered his eyes for this part because he didn't want to watch). All in all, it's pretty intense. My kids were mostly okay with it, but I would not have taken my 8 year old last year -- it really depends on the kid.

Thanks Mary and Dawn. We don't usually let our kids watch PG-13 unless we have viewed it first. From what you have told me, we won't be taking them to it. Thanks for the info!

DH and I went to see it. We had a wonderful time. Definately not a kids movie. The kissing scene didn't bother me a bit. The creepy, dark, cruel stuff is what makes it not a kids movie in my mind.

I took three 10 year old girls last weekend, and they did just fine at the movie. Two people cried :crying: about Dobby, but one of those might have been a 40 something year old mom.....
