I am so lucky this year ... dh is into woodworking so unless he comes up with something else for his dad ... his dad will be getting a turned ornament and a turned wooden bowl from dh's lathe ... lol ... in fact that is what everyone in his family will be getting ... I am so totally out of buying presents for anyone on that side of the family! yay

sorry I am not more help ... but I am happy happy. lol

My stepdad, however, is a toughie ... hoping my mom will be able to help with that. He travels like 9-10 months out of the year for his job and moves constantly ... the only thing I have been able to think of is maybe buying him a cell phone upgrade.

After the past three years of giving him a bad gift... This year I got him a gift card. He is the only person that I can never find the "perfect gift" for.

Whiskey- it is the only thing that is a guaranteed hit! LOL! We have tried to get him more personal stuff before, and it generally ends up being not used or returned, so we switched to a more practical gift... alcohol!

My father and my husband are both hard to buy for! So far I've ordered them each a big bottle of personalize Tabasco sauce. Nothing says love like a little fire in the mouth! lol

Last year we wow'ed my FMIL by presenting him with a photoframed collage of photos from his childhood. His mother passed away a few years ago so we gathered up tons of vintage photos of her and of he and his brothers in their little cowboy costumes and stuff... it was adorable. He and my MIL both cried.

I always get my FIL a gift card. Joel doesn't help so that's what he gets. LOL My dad always makes me a list. This year I got him BBC's Planet Earth series on DVD. :)

My dad works 60+ hours a week and watches TV. Those are his only hobbies. *lol* He gets a DVD every Christmas and birthday and has for the last 10 years. He doesn't care what the gift is, but that there is one, kwim?

My FIL is a little more wellounded. We usually get him a Sudoku (sp?) book or something related to golf. This year I saw in Wireless catalog some Lutheran coffee and mugs. He is sooooo Lutheran that it's not even funny and drinks a pot of coffee a day, so it's perfect. :)

My step-dad is literally happy with anything that the kiddos are on or made. Makes getting him presents a ton easier. And we don't buy my father or father-in-law anything.

I'll be getting my dad a zip up extra thick hoodie (which we get him every other year) and probably a movie or two if I can find some he would like.

We'll probably get my FIL a big bottle of Scotch and a pack of cigars.

We usually get FIL a nice scotch, or we do a joint gift with SIL. This year, I think we might be getting him some wine brewing supplies, he makes his own wine, and could use some replacements of some of his equipment.

For dad, I have nothing yet, last year I got him a Brett Favre jersey, he's a Viks fan.

My dad is like impossible to buy for. He has no hobbies and no collections. I rarely come up with anything good. This year so far I have bought him a shirt, not sure what else with it yet.
