I need someone to tell me this is not completely abnormal!

About 1/2 hour ago, my belly started making really strange noises. Kind of like the sound your stomach makes when you are hungry. But it was a bubbling / fizzing / leaking kind of sound rather than a grumble. I sat very still so I could try to tell if I could feel anything (I couldn't). But it went on for about 5 minutes (not consistantly, but like a 5 second noise w/ a 5-10 second break in between). Then the baby went CRAZY and started moving like mad in there. It calmed down some and is moving again (rolling it feels like). It was WAY over on my right side as well. It wasn't my stomach. I think it was too high to be my intestines, but who knows how things are laying inside right now. My initial thought was maybe the baby was putting pressure on my intestines and backed off so there might have been an air bubble.

Anyways, it freaked me out. Of course I think of worst case scenario, which would be somehow my amniotic fluid is leaking, but I feel no pain, which certainly would happen if something were to puncture my uterus hard enough to cause it to leak??

I am sorry I can't help you. I never been pregnant so I don't know the feeling. But if you feel really nervous about this I would go to the doctors just to be sure. He probably can relax you a little bit by showing nothing's wrong.

Good luck!

It could definitely be your intestines...they are pushed way way far up during pregnancy, here is a "sketch" of where they might be at 28 weeks pregnant

See...they are really pushed up far!!!

My fast and hard rule of thumb during pregnancy is CALL CALL CALL if you are uneasy!!! That is what your doctor is paid for!!!! Goos Luck Jae!!!!

Good to know Elizabeth! I think it was just an air bubble - but it was soooo odd! That's never happened to me before.

Awk! I wish I hadn't seen that picture! I've been pregnant twice, but hadn't thought about where all my innards flowed to!:(

Eww, that pic!!!
I've had two babies.. (1 weighed under 2 pounds so the picture probably didn't happen like that for him! lol) I guess in the back of my mind I thought the baby would be in front of the organs, not totally push them up like that! lol

I had that same problem last pregnancy and thought it was my intestines and had to find a similar sketch to make sure they really were that high. Even my sister heard it!

I can remember having really sharp pains underneath my ribcage on the right side that totally freaked me out and it turned out to be gas pains...it was so odd to feel them that high up.

Jade,
It sounds like gas or possibly the baby switching positions. How far along are you? I'm 28 1/2 weeks.

When in doubt call for reassurance from the dr.
