Have any of you pulled your kids out of regular school to start homeschooling?
Let me give a bit if situation recap::::
My DD has been staying at her Dad's for a couple of months. It's no biggie as we let her "float" between houses. But the problem with that is she will be 15 this month and is super shy. I can read her pretty well and know when she is having issues but my stinking ex doesn't have a clue...grrrr. Because of her shyness she has been an easy target for the bullies more than once. She does her fair share of getting in trouble but what kid doesn't, yanno? But when she was younger and until early in the 5th grade she had bladder problems and for the life of me I could not get her to quit picking her nose. I think it was like a nervous twitch with her. All is fine now and she is a normal teen. Just not one of the popular kids. The school is small. My son's graduating class was big at 35.
Anyhow over the weekend she made a comment on this girls FB giving her opinion about a situation about 2 people who were dating. No uglyness on her part...just an opinion. This little twit of a girl turns on her like a rabid dog. Then of course her buddies chime in. I go and delete her comment and block these offensive little twerps on her FB account. I find out tonite that she has had threats to beat her up...by a BOY no less...food thrown at her in the cafeteria...she has been verbally harrassed by being called several foul names, thumped on the back of the neck in the bathroom, almost tripped ON PURPOSE. She didn't even tell me about the threats to beat her up...I found that on FB while digging about under her account.
She will not go back to that school since this is not the first time she has been bullied. I am not even going to the school first to speak to them. I will go straight to the school board. My daughter's safety is at risk at this point. I watch way too much Dr. Phil and Nancy Grace to take any chances.
So is it possible to start the homeschooling gig this late in the school year? I don't care if we have to do summer work either at this point. And where do you start to find out what type of curriculum is needed?
Any help or links would so greatly be appreciated.
