I've been coming to this forum for 4 years now and been really active for 3...so you girls know about my unhealthy obsession with gnomes. (And, inversely, my unhealthy hatred for flamingos). You can imagine my tunnel vision when, two months ago, I learned about Gnomeo & Juliet coming out on Valentine's Day weekend!
I have maintained the whole time that I didn't want a Vday gift but rather just wanted to go to the Movie Tavern and see this. Anyone else seeing it?

As it turns out, we don't have a sitter lined up for the weekend. We have a few options but they're just more trouble than it's worth (not driving the kids 3 hours roundtrip just so we can see a movie, yaknow?)
James and I are having date night "in" on Saturday just like we do every Saturday...with grown up dinner (aka spicy food, etc the kids don't like) and a movie every Saturday night after the kids go to bed. We just can't work it out to go out this weekend.
BUT, I think James and Parker may have a guys' afternoon on Saturday and I'm going to take Naomi to see this. Won't be the same as a night on the town with my love but Naomi wants to see it too and I LOVE taking her to the movies...she's such a sweet lil nugget!
Anyway, I'm done rambling. Had to see if anyone else was planning to see it; ya'll are my gnomies after all :p

My 8 year old DD is dying to see it! I think she may end up cashing in her "Date with Mom" coupon that she's getting for Valentine's Day to go. ;) That won't be this weekend though, so I'll be watching for your review!

We'll probably be going next weekend to see it together. I still have to finish reading Romeo & Juliet (http://shakespeare.palomar.edu/lambtales/LTROMEO.HTM) to the boys (via the Lambs' Tales of Shakespeare (http://shakespeare.palomar.edu/lambtales/lambtale.htm) which are narrative readings of Shakespeare to introduce them to the stories before we jump into the plays directly since they're on the level of my 7yo).

I want to see it!
I am newer an did not know you had a gnome obsession. There is a town by me that is obsessed with gnomes! They crown 2 people each year as gnome of the year.. Everyone has gnome decorations, etc. There are even gnomes set up around the pool.

I'm planning to take my boys (2 & 4 years) to see it next week. They saw the preview for it before Tangled and have been wanting to see it ever since. I'm pretty lucky that they like movies and popcorn (must take after their mom ;)) I'm sure it will be super cute!

Ugh, I want to see it, too!!! But I don't think my 3 year old would sit through a movie that long... so I guess we will have to wait until it comes out on dvd.

It was a cute movie, first one my 3 year has made it all the way through without asking to go home.

Haha Crystal showed me the trailer for that and I caught it again when we watched Tangled--I kept cracking up. The hubs however was not easily amused. And my brother (who is a total Pixar and Disney snob) wasn't either.

My husband went with us, he usually skips the animated movies. He didn't seem to enjoy it as much as we did. Must be a man thing.

We went to see it over the weekend and loved it. Our 18 month old actually sat still and kept her eyes on it the entire time!
It's a really good movie, I want to go see it again :)... um, I mean my kids want to go see it again :p

I saw this with a girlfriend last weekend! It's a kick! I really needed a good laugh and this was perfect! I personally wouldn't take a smallish child since the subject matter is a 'fued' and the little cute gnomies are trying to destroy each other! A school age kid should be just fine.
