Last night I went to see Hawthorne Heights, one of my favourite bands ever. I used to talk to Casey, who was a vocalist for them until he passed away a few years ago, but I don't know the rest of the band- they're all strangers to me.

Anyway, I paid for VIP meet and greet passes, so I could get band autographs, etc. I asked the band if there was any way that they could sign a get well card for my little brother- he had a tonsillectomy today. Not only did they sign the card I brought, and write a personal note to him, but they told me to take him some stickers and pins. Now, mind you, this was merch that could be purchased, and I had considered buying them for my brother, but didn't want to pay that much... and they just GAVE them to him. They totally didn't have to- the card was more than enough.

I was just so floored that they did that. They were SO sweet, and I'm so happy I got to see them :) Anyway.... just wanted to share. I love when people go above and beyond like that. :)

Aww that was so sweet of them! I am so jealous that you got to go to the show and meet them, they were here in Wichita on Sunday night and Rob and I were gonna go to the show but ended up not being able to afford buying the tickets (darn the State of Kansas and the IRS for holding up our tax refunds!) so we missed out and I'm still bummed about it.

Awww, Shawna :( That sucks!

They had a groupon for the KC show the day before the show-- 2 tickets and a song download for $15 (which was cheaper than the cost of 1 ticket). The KC show only had about 150-200 people at it (and there were only 20 of us at the meet and greet beforehand). I'm glad we bought the meet and greet, but the whole band was available for pictures and autographs after the show, so it wasn't essential for us to have bought it. :/

Also, they said they would be back hopefully in the next 2 years, so... : shrugs : Right now they're working on new material.

Wow that was an awesome Groupon deal, I wonder why they didn't offer something like that here? We could have handled two tickets for only $15! Tickets here were $20 each and then if you purchased them online it was an extra $6 in "service fees". We've gone to a lot of concerts over the past few years and I've found that my most favorite shows are the ones held at smaller venues, most of the bands come out and hang out after the show and sign autographs and take photos with the fans.

I think we're coming up to KC for the A Day to Remember (3/26) and Three Days Grace (4/2) concerts!

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to A Day to Remember or not... if I do, we'll have to be in touch and maybe we can say hi! :)

I would go to Three Days Grace, but I'm pretty sure I'm skipping it for Bright Eyes, if I'm back from vacation in time (I'm afraid to order tickets until I find out if we're driving home on the 1st or the 2nd!)
