or general birthday/pizza party-esque kit...
What are some things that you would consider "must-haves"?
I've got one in the works for next weekend, but I want to make sure I don't leave anything major out (cause it's been a long time since I've done the whole CEC thing).
What about colors? That is one crazy bright atmosphere, so I'm wondering what most of you would find most useful in a kit? (I've got an idea in mind, but I just thought I'd ask in case someone has an idea that I haven't even thought of).
Thanks for the feedback!

Tickets & coins come to mind right off. Yellow, orange, blue. Crazy chaos! lol

Chuck E. is gray, and I think the main colors are red, purple and green!
for stuff...the little photo booth that prints a "hand drawn" image of the kids, they love that. Maybe a blank one as a frame? skee ball (wooden balls and tickets), pizza, the little ticket cups, it's also very loud in there - maybe music notes?
also - don't forget...
When I say HAPPY, you say BIRTHDAY! HAPPY! BIRTHDAY! HAPPY! BIRTHDAY! And my kids LOVE the stupid birthday medal they give out. (it looks like an olympic gold medal, LOL!). Oh, and the inflatable birthday crown too!
I'm so happy to hear that someday Chuck E. will be a distant memory...;)

I think color wise, more primary than disney which plays off red/yellow and black. Purples in there. Definitely coins. Maybe even bouncy house parties?
Crown, king chair for the birthday kid? Balloon type alphas?
we have parties here often: http://www.pumpitupparty.com/ca/pleasanton/home-p1q5.htm
and here:
http://www.superfranks.com/parties.php
What comes to mind is arcade games, kids jumping around, going down slides, etc. Definitely pizza, maybe a rectangle cake in addition to a round cake? lots of balls--either ball pit balls or dodge balls(bouncy balls).
I have also seen most party places offer 'glow' nights where the kids have glow in the dark parties for older kids... so maybe glow sticks, glow necklaces?
Maybe too broad, but have some lazer tag guns/targets?
I love the birthday banners in its and would LOVE one that matched this one too. :p

I would love to see some orange and blue in there... not so much for the Chuck E Cheese angle, but so I could use the kit to scrap some of my Dave and Busters pics, too.
...but that's just me.

Me too! I won't do places like that anymore-I did when my teenagers we little-but Landen has never stepped foot in one and doesn't even really understand what it is...the mere thought of letting him in a Chuck E Cheese is stomach turning!
Birthday kits as long as they aren't girly are always a hit with me Libby!

We just went to a party there Sunday. I'd say everyone has covered what would be included.
Maybe a pizza slice....a scatter of tickets...can't think of anything else right now.

What about the whack-a-mole thingie! And a bright colored round thing with numbers on it (there are several games with that on it). Or the water spray race, or the basketball shot race. Sheeesh, I've been there waaaaay too much to know all this!
We go to CEC after boys get their allergy shot. They get 10 coins (I get them when I have a coupon for 0.10 a piece) and I don't have to fight them on the shot thing. We go when there is like 3 other people are there so the noise/chaos is not bad. But I hate when we have to go to a bday party (his best friend last year had it there as well as the soccer and tball teams).
But in our small(ish) city there isn't much else for the younger crowd on cold/hot days.

They have that "photo booth" where the mouse "draws" your picture. Maybe a frame that's similar.
I agree that it's nice to not go to CEC too frequently anymore. I think it's been a couple of years for us. Nope, just a year. Steven went to a party there right before the big snowstorm last year. I have a container in the trunk of my car with about 200 tokens in it - we really need to go back and use them.

OMG! I cannot STAND Chuck E Cheese . . . in fact, I think all the bad things I used to say about it is why God hasn't blessed me with any grandchildren. I told my kids that I'd be the best grandma in the world but that I would not - under ANY circumstances - ever take my DGK's to CEC. When I envision Hell, I'm sitting in the dentist's chair with a big ol' drill coming at me - only the chair is smack in the middle of CEC!!

BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHA This made me laugh right out loud to the point that Jeff had to ask what was so funny! LOL
Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I've got some ideas on the direction I'm gonna take, but I think this may be one of those kits that take on a life of its own before all is said and done. ;)

Great ideas! ...it's been several years since we have been at CEC
