Hey girls,
I just wanted to let you know that we are looking into the reports of problems with downloads and other strange things going on here at SSD.
Unfortunately, the problem is that Jason, our tech-support guy and I can't duplicate these issues. I download from the same keys as someone who reports a problem and I have zero issues with the download, the unzipping or the files inside. I haven't noticed any issues at all with replying to posts or site layout issues either. Obviously, it's very, very hard to fix something when it doesn't seem to be broken when you look into it.
That said, these issues do seem to be reported fairly frequently and moreso this weekend, so we are looking into it. Hopefully Jason will be able to find something soon.

Don't wan't to add to you list of issues but thought you might want to know :)

Same issues here. The gallery is acting very WONKY. (using Safari on my mac. No issues until recently.....)

See and I am on Safari and a mac and the gallery and store and everything is loading just fine. Which tells us that it isn't a site issue but a connectivity issue somewhere between us and you guys who are having issues. We have people who are having problems on their computer but when they access the site on their husband's computer - no issues at all. That isn't a site issue - that's something happening on the end user's side. We are looking into it, but we're really limited on what we can do when we can't duplicate the problem on our end : (
This is super super frustrating, but we are doing our best girls!

Definitely sounds like a connectivity issue . . . I'm also on a Mac using Safari, and I'm not having any problems whatsoever.

I guess I am not understanding what the issue can be...I'm on a PC using Chrome, and I am getting the garbled images and my downloads aren't complete when I download them. This is the only site I visit that I am having this problem with.

Could it be a certain ISP? I'm on comcast with firefox on my mac and having no issues. I've also had no issues from my phone (verizon) or on my ipad.

I'm on Comcast as well, but I am getting some serious wonked out stuff...I tried my wife's computer, and she is having the same issue with the site, and I can't get a complete download there either.
I'm going to do more research and see if I can find something on my end.

It may be my internet provider. It is not happening at any other sites though. I too am getting some weird images and earlier instead of displaying the forum it showed the header and then a bunch of html text down the middle column. I clicked refresh and the forum was back to normal. It does sound frustrating though. I wish it was just a certain thing that I could tell you I am doing but it just seems to randomly pop up.

this is what I am getting and ONLY with SSD. I have DL-ed successfully from other stores/sites and cannot get anything from SSD. I have Time Warner.

That's what I am seeing too except the main forum page is fine now. I started to see it on Thursday with the sneak peek thread. I just went back there to see if the issue was still there for me and I got through page 1 with a couple of LOs like that and then going to page 2, I get this:

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

that's about what every other image in the gallery looks like for me. Plus the gibberish in the forum occasionally pops up. It does it for me no matter what internet thingy I use, and on my IPod, and on my mom's computer.

Ok. I have tried DL with the following:
PC: Desktop: Internet Explorer
PC: Desktop: Firefox
PC: Laptop: Firefox
Mac: Firefox
Mac: Safari
Yes on clearing caches.
Files were:
Cindy's Set 89(PSD and Tiff--I randomly tried the PNG file and that downloaded fine on my Mac with Safari, got an error that I have maxed out on downloads for the PSD file)
Misty's Kickin' It (EP and PP)
Libby's Paper Clips - Jumbo Shapes 2
The site looks much more normal overall, but some of the LOs that were wonky from Thursday-Sat are still showing up as wonky.
I do use Comcast, so maybe that is the common denominator?

I use comcast at home and mine is fine.. so I dont' think it's the ISP?
We use surewest at work and I'm on IE there, FF here and no problems either place.. although I haven't tried to d/l from work, I can view everything.

I had serious issues with downloading (and couldn't use iTunes at all) when I had my wifi security set too high. When I turned it down, I could suddenly download without error and use iTunes. I had it on WPA2 and switched to WPA (still password protected, though). That made the whole difference for me. Any chance that could explain some of the errors?

I've tried different devices with no luck. And I'm on Korean Internet, not anything like yalls. I'm getting the same wonky header as Aaron.

I've been getting the content endocing error since Saturday! Also I'm from UK so not using the same internet provider as the US people on here lol. :) If I refresh it works fine for a short time so it's not too much of a pain for me at the minute. Ps if it's any help I'm PC using Firefox! :)

I can obviously get on and post, but I couldn't view anything in the gallery this weekend, and pages posted over the weekend I still can't see, along with about 1/2 the previews in the shop. As for the forum, if I refresh the page a couple times I eventually get non-messed up/readable SSD. lol So its not too bad.

I'm not having any issues either. Not at work or at home. Both are FF, both are Verizon internet. Home is wifi, work is plugged in. I don't know if that's helpful or not, but I figured I'd post to say I'm ok over here in MD. ::shrugs::
So frustrating for all involved. Where's that web-magic-wand to make everything better??

I've had problems with certain websites before when I've accessed the same site, logged on, from two different devices using the same wi-fi. It sent some sort of security alert to the server. I think we were able to fix it by restarting our router or something like that...

If any of you are having download and site issues consistently, will you help us out by completing the following test for our tech guy Jason...
Go to https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/test
Attempt to download all 8 files from each link. Then test extracting the files. Once done, send a report- I need to know which files (names 1.zip, 2.zip, etc) extracted successfully.
Like I said, none of us who are trying to troubleshoot this are having ANY problems whatsoever, so this really has us baffled.
Really appreciate any help or info you can provide on the test above.

I downloaded them all fine but when it camae to extracting them NONE would work, I just got an error box pop up all 8 times! |Edit to say I've just tried downloading and extracting from another site and it worked fine so it's deinitely not my laptop this time lol.

Download and extracted fine. All had something named this in it:

I can't do the "new posts" anymore. It just says it can't connect. That is a recent development.
specifically it says, "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 208.115.32.13:181"
When I click on the specific forums I have no problems. So just a problem with "new posts" button

I don't know if I'm having DL issues because I haven't DLed anything since this all started. The site is mostly working fine for me, but when I try to go to the testing site, I get a message that Google Chrome can't find the page. I'm guessing you took it down but just wanted to mention it in case you hadn't. Thanks for working so hard to find out what's wrong for some people!

I just went to unzip the stuff I got from the store last weekend.......ALL were corrupt. I redownloaded and they seem to be okay, I'm doing one at a time. Yesterday for hours on end the entire site gave me a 404 error, now today it did that for about an hour also and now some images are wonky...lots of refreshing will sometimes help. Still getting the content encoding error also.

Yeah I just bought a bunch of stuff and I need a few more things for my albums and I couldn't download. And now I can't log into my account, or link to my downloads. :( sorry this is happening Robin! yucky.

OMG i just bought stuff and this is what i get when i click the link to go to the download page

Some glitch must have happened momentarily..because, I saw that too. But now its OK!

Be patient girls and keep trying!! I know Robin has been working on some network issues and is trying to come up with solutions! I'm having trouble getting into the shoppe tonight too, but every now and then it will work. I know it's frustrating, but just know that Robin is aware and is just as frustrated as we are!! :) There might be a lot of traffic right now too that's making it worse??

Well, I got into the shop just fine, I placed my order just fine, but I can't download. Here's what I'm getting (tried multiple files from both kits that I purchased today, so I know it's not just one file with a problem):
Safari can’t open the page “https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com:281/sweetshoppe/download.php?id=fe4b17531d39579399b209416f180ad6&seid=19088356674d971ba5cf51e&action=get” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding.
I'm bummed because I am so drooling over the Japan kit and I have just the PERFECT pictures that I am dying to scrap today. I'm so sorry that you're going through this, Robin! You must be so frustrated.

I'm doing the test now. Test 1 is downloading, but it's really slow. It's hovering at anywhere from 140-160 kb/sec. I'll let you know what happens when I try to unzip...
Whole download took a little over 3 minutes. Unzipped just fine to show a file called 93.81_forceware_winxp64_english.exe

darn it, I was hopign I'd escaped the issues. I can't get to any of my downloads..the download page loads, but none of my downloads will even start. Running Firefox on Win7 32 bit and Firefox on Vista 64 bit and IE on both comps as well. No luck.

ETA: To help -- I get to the download page with no problem, but when trying to download I get Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www . sweetshoppedesigns . com:281. I''m using Chrome, which is kind of clear from the message. :-)

I'm using IE and having the same issues - was able to purchase just fine but can't get to the download page and IE says it can't display the web page :( I know eventually it will all be worked out :)

I'm another one who previously had no issues. I got to the store and browsed and purchased fine (and not just from the NR page either), got to all my download pages, but all of them timed out on me when I tried to download.

just wanted to add that I had problems too. I can see everything fine, and haven't gotten any errors, but I bought several kits Thursday and had to download multiple times before I finally got the files. The ones that didn't work after the first try were downloading way too quickly for the file size, and when I'd unzip, there was nothing there.

I haven't been able to download anything some time now... every download link I click on gives the "The connection was reset" message after quite long loading... I use Firefox.

Here's a copy of the email that I've sent to everyone who has written this morning about download issues...
Hi there,
In trying to implement a fix for the handful of people who were having trouble, it seems our tech support created a bigger issue for everyone else. If you delete :281 from the URL in the download link you were sent, everything should work fine again.
https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com:281 needs to be https://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com
We're very sorry for the trouble. Please let me know if you continue to have problems with your downloads and if you need your downloads reset, just let me know the order number and I'll be happy to take care of that for you.

This issue has now been fixed, but it will be reflected on NEW orders in the shoppe. If the emails you were sent with download links have the :281 in them, you'll need to delete that to get them to work.

The delete :281 doesn't somehow work for me so far. The page keeps loading and loading and doesn't load at all. Will try again later.

In lieu of a bat, might I suggest a pair of balled up socks hurled against a wall? Works wonders at relieving frustration. ;)

It's still taking 2-3 minutes to get a page to load for me. It never takes that long for me, even on the really busy days.

When I click on the download link, nothing comes up except this - and this is new compared to what I got earlier today:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@sweetshoppedesigns.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I wasn't having any issues previously and even today wasn't til now.
I had a few things in my cart, went to continue shopping and now nothing. :( Makes me sad.
Keep up the hard frustrating work Robin... **hugs**
I'll try back later. I just don't want to miss on the NR 20%.

I actually bought something in the wee hours and then the shoppe stopped working right about the time I completed my transaction. I haven't been able o get back in the store since. But I got my paypal receipt and 2 order receipts, but no download key sent like it normally does. I'm assuming I will be able to download it once the shoppe is "fixed".
So Sorry the site is giving you issues, Robin. Hope things get resolved for you soon without resorting to hitting things with a bat :) .

knock on wood... it's downloading for me if I go directly to the shoppe using Meg's link and use the download links in my orders history... the only thing that I'm seeing so far is that the uppercase T is corrupt in the alpha of the charity kit. Not sure if I should just contact Misty directly or who... I didn't want to bother Robin because she's working so hard to fix the shop... and I'm not really having shop issues.
