View Full Version : enable me~ Emma's first Album!!
I wanna make an album of Emma's first year. I want to document everything that I've recorded so far and lay it out in a 12x12 digital album.
I really wanna use Friends for La's Charity kit... but I need some inspirations on
Must need pages...
page layouts...
or free templates.
I really don't buy templates and I like a variety of pages... or I get bored. Thats what I love about the multiple designer BIG kit because of the variety. I like it all to match tho.
Before pages:
during birth pages:
month pages:
family pages:

favorites - friends, toys, blankets, books, foods, outfits, etc
dislikes - foods, activities... (my son loathed tummy time :))
her schedule for the day/week
a letter from you to her - how your life have changed
world events, who is president, how much things costs

For my kids' first year albums, some of the milestones are just part of that month's page and some have their own pages. I probably did individual layouts for rolling, crawling, walking, eating, and holidays.
I also included:
A few family portrait pages
A page of her with each of the significant people/families in her life
A few "personality" pages, for lack of a better word. Was she an easy newborn? The kind who cried for hours on end and wouldn't let anyone but Mommy hold her? Alert and interested in the world from day 1? You'd probably need 3-4 as she changes over the year.

Oh, I just thought of 1 more thing. I love growth layouts, where you combine pictures in the same place taken at multiple times during the year (like photos on a certain couch or in the same carseat) where you can see how much she's grown.
I also like to do a bath variation. I include first infant tub/sink bath, last infant tub/sink bath, first bath in the toddler tub inside the big tub, and first bath in the big tub. Even if that last milestone isn't within the first year, I still put the LO in the first year album.

Another thing you NEED is a layout with this growth chart template by Misty :) I used it for both of my kids and love love love the pages!

Or this "Year at a Glance" template by Penny. Here's a page I did with it...

It makes a great first page, or even cover to your album. I love looking at these layouts where you can see all the photos together to see how much they've grown :)

I've been trying to document everything I can for Kennedy so that when I do get around to doing her book I have the info.
I've added some non-traditional firsts to my list:
First trip to the mall
First social event (we went to a baby shower)
FIrst slumber party (my best friend stayed over one night with us)
When she held her head up
when she started "talking"
started eating hands
slept through the night
rolled from belly to back
holidays
Cindy has a baby's first year template:

these are great ideas!!! i love all the inspiration. I downloaded a bunch of cindy's temps so i thhink that baby first from her is my favorite
I can't decide if I want to use the same kit, or change it up..... idk yet

Do a page with you and her, and write a letter to her now (you can repeat whenever you feel like). Do the same with her and Daddy. He'll probably resist and feel silly, so you can always have him literally write her a letter, and then attach it to the page somehow after printing (maybe leave a block of paper blank on the LO, and then attach a small envelope to it and fold it up and stick it inside - I hope to do this when we have kids, and it has the added benefit of being a record of your handwriting too, which is something she'll cherish much later in life once you're gone).
1st time meeting the family (grandparents/aunts/uncles).
Your favorite outfit.
Your favorite time of day with her.
Routines: morning, bath, naptime, bedtime.
Just get it started. If you try and worry about every detail of what kit, what template, what page, what order, etc you run the risk of never starting (or am I the only one like that? LOL!).

Personally, I'd get bored using the same kit for so many pages, no matter how big and fabulous the kit!

It's not just you!
