Wisconsin Dells

I am thinking of making a trip out to the Wisconsin Dells in late summer. I know some of you are from near that. All the motels are a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions? It would be me and my 4 year old meeting my friend and her 8 year old.

We stayed at the Kalahari a few years ago...LOVED it!!! They have added on TONS since we have been there and we had a blast then...I can only imagine what it's like now!!!!

I grew up an hour away from the Dells - so we never really needed to stay at the hotel. I do remember once staying at a hotel/motel that was out of town. Couldn't tell you the name of it - and I know it was one of the older motels built back in the 60s :) Lots of newer exciting hotels there now! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

When we went, we stayed at the Chula Vista resort... it was like brand new at the time (geez, this was before hubby and I were married- we took his step-siblings) so it was pretty reasonable. It was nice because it had mini golf, indoor waterpark, arcade, etc... so we didn't really have to leave if we didn't want too.

But they advertise a ton around here - so I'm sure it isn't cheap anymore...
