LOL! I love to unzip and put away :) it's one little tiny corner of the universe I can control. It's like seeing new clothes hanging in the closet to add new previews to my preview folders, LOL.

Unfortunately I was in clean up mode aftewards, and I deleted all my old .psd files, forgetting the ONE FILE i just create 10 minutes before as a template that I hadn't yet finished with. Gone, baby gone. Now I have to re-create it! bugger.

I'm like Meg & DL'd into one "Downloads" folder so I don't have to see them...& then unzip them all at once into another folder called "To Organize" -- then the fun begins, renaming, sorting & moving.

Then once a month (or 3) they get backed up...which I dislike doing the most, because it seems to take for.ev.ver.

Mine looked very similar lol. I use ACDSee and they download into my D drive (I have dual partition drives).

I still have a couple of stores I meant to check out, but forgot, hopefully their sales are still on!

Heheh, I haven't downloaded my purchases yet. That's saved for tomorrow, before the Americans get up. :)

The only thing I downloaded, unzipped and sorted were a few freebies and the DSA Blog train. Which btw was amazing again! I LOVE that "mega kit". Big thank you to the designers. Anyway, I did sort out that one in case I have corrupted files and can't get them again.

But other than that I save the fun for tomorrow. And i'm like Beckie, I like to organise it. I look at all my new goodies and am happy. Oh, and my program for unzipping is 7zip.

Yeah for new goodies, but boo for having to organize all that! I hate to organize, so I save it for when I have no mojo but still want to be productive.

I download into a big downloads folder, too. I unzip the same day and get everything usable, but I only organize once every few months. Things generally get used a few times from the Downloads folder before I get around to sorting and moving them to the main stash folders.

I have to unzip and sort them all out straight away. I have set up my hard drive to have folders, mostly arranged by designer, but sometimes by shop. As I download, I go into preferences on my browser and set the download to go to the correct folder. Then I unzip them and delete the zip files. I try to back them up right away too, especially if they are purchased. I have to say, I've been sorting out new stuff a lot this weekend...

This is why I use Safari for downloading. It unzips and deletes the zip file for me.

My unused kit list went from 6 up to like 16 in two days though. {sigh} But I love everything I bought!

I download them to a folder and then unzip them as needed or when I get some free minutes. Then they go into another folder titled - to scrap with.

I download and unzip straight away, I feel all iritated having things on my desktop apart from stuff that needs to be there such as iTunes, Firefox etc lol!!

yep^^^this!! (although mine this year is called iNSD just so I can keep it separate. I can't stand my desktop cluttered like that!

Speaking of unzipping/extracting - what's everyones go-to program? I just found a new one that I *LOVE* (The Extractor) but I can't figure out how to get it to delete the zip file once it's extracted.

What I do like about The Extractor is that I can load up all my zip files and then go through and choose where each one will unzip to - nice when every kit has 3 links or more!

I use "Unzip Them All". I use the free one and have for years!

I download them all to my downloads file, and within there they are saved to a file by Store/type. That way once I unzip them I can put them away quickly. I've laready unzipped all mine, lol!

Normally I do start unzipping right away, but since I knew I'd be gone for several hours Saturday I went ahead and just did all of the stuff downloading at once. With all our rain and flooding my internet is sooooooo slow right now, it's taking like 10 minutes to download things.
