Is anyone a cake decorator, seamstress, photographer, etc? I'm just curious to know if anyone is crafty/creative for a living.
If so how did you get started?

I am studying fashion marketing, which is super creative in terms of field (we come up with visual displays for stores, and things like that), but it's not creative like any of the fields you mentioned... :: shrugs ::

OMG, that is so cool and sounds like alot of fun! It doesn't have to be like the fields I mentioned....those were just things off the top of my head.

does that count? i broke the mold. everyone else in this family is either an engineer/computer geek, a nurse, or a teacher.

I was a professional photographer once upon a time. I love photography and taking photos but I hated working in pro studios. You have to shoot 'their' way and it's not creative at all! Frankly it's just alot of hard work, and disappointment when customers complain about prices (something I had no control over!) so I left, and got an office job, which I loved til I left to have kids. I still do the occasional photo shoot for friends, family or thru word of mouth, but that's different cos it's on my terms. I've found I'm happiest if I'm just taking photos for me. Photography looses all it's appeal when it's forced.
These days, I'd love to open a crafty little etsy store to sell stuff I've sewn/crafted. Just need to learn how to sew! Lol

I am a photographer (been in business fo r4.5 years, but always been interested) I did some photography in HS on the yearbook staff & then took a class when I went to college. Other than that I just studied & practiced.. lots..
My family dubs me the "Mini-Martha". I also have a small Etsy store, but haven't had a chance to make anything new to add to it in a couple months.
Before I was a SAHM & then a photographer, I was asst. manager at a regional bank here..not too shabby for 21. :)

I'm a photographer, don't make a killing doing it, but I get paid to. LOL!
I've been going to school for photographic technology for almost 2 years.

I used to create computer based training programs using Adobe Authorware and Photoshop. ;) The department I was in also took care of the New Hire program and many internal conferences - so there was always creative things going on from decorating in a theme to creating signs to powerpoint presentations, making up games to enhance learning, etc. However most of my day was around sitting in meetings and finding creative ways to get work done when there was more work than man hours... all in all it was a pretty cool job. ;)

I work in marketing at a safety and compliance company. My job is unique in that I not only plan the mail, email, etc. programs that I want to run for my products but I also do all the graphic design for those programs.

I owned a quilt store for 3.5 years where I sold the "makings" for quilts. We were also an Authorized Pfaff dealer. It was a big business, not a small store by any means. Was a ton of work......
Now days, I'm just creative in the way of paper and digital scrapping, sewing and quilting. ;)

I wish I had a creative career! being a math professor is ok, but there are a lot of other more creative things I'd rather do with my time!
