View Full Version : Milk. Everywhere.

Just got finished cleaning up a massive amount of milk off my kitchen countertops, cabinet doors, and floor. My daughter was pouring a glass (out of a brand new gallon), and somehow it slipped from her hand or something and the full gallon landed on the floor. It busted the carton, so I had to pour what was left into a pitcher.
But seriously. Milk. EVERYWHERE. I cleaned it up as best I could and mopped the floor after. Hoping I got it all as I do NOT want to deal with ants and sour milk smell.
Blech.
As a side note, she felt REALLY bad and was in tears helping me in the kitchen. Poor thing. It was just an accident, but she just felt awful. :(

:( I totally know how she feels. I've done that before, and I sobbed and sobbed over it. Maybe that's where the expression came from?
Poor thing :(

As the saying goes..."no use in crying over spilled milk"
Awww, what a sweetie. My son at that age would have been like "oh well" and dumped Legos in it. HA! My daughter would have bawled too. The difference between boys and girls lol.

my kids have done similar things and they immediately look up at me and say "Im sorry mama, it was an accident". Then I feel bad for getting mad at them about it. But if they would have listened to me in the first place and waited for me to help them then there wouldnt be a mess on the floor.
AH! I feel your pain Libby.

Awwww, bless her heart. I know when my children had accidents they would cry too. I hope you got it all too. Can't milk be sticky too? That would be a pain in the A$$! And I detest ants! Maybe just clean it each day and mop for a few days just to be sure you get it all. Lots of work but probably worth it to make sure you don't have bigger issues to deal with. Sorry love! :hugs:

Oooh, ick. With three small-ish children in our house, I've had to clean up lots of spilled milk. It really is the worst.

Darn - that's indeed a mess . . . somehow just a small amount of liquid becomes gallons when it spills! Sorry for both you and your DD, Libby! :hugs:

Oh poor little thing. And you are a wonderful Mom I would have burst out screaming and yelling if my kids had done that.

I feel your pain. Spilled milk is the worst. But my middle kiddo would have dumped that gallon on purpose and then thrown some broken eggs into it. You should see some of the photos I have of his mischief!
