I'm giving my DD (turning 9) a camping sleep over party in a few weeks. I just finished the invites. See invites here (https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=194535&nocache=1) (thank you Jenn Barrette for making the perfect kit for this party!!!!)

Now I need ideas for table decoration, games and party favors to go with our theme. We have a pool so the girls can swim. There are only going to be 4 guests plus 2 party entertainers (my older dd and her friend). So 6 girls all together.

We're serving roast your own hot dogs, chips, fruit and veggies with dip, and bug juice for dinner. S'mores for dessert plus cupcakes or cake balls. For Breakfast I'm going to make birthday cake pancakes and serve with fruit and turkey bacon and milk.

What ideas do you smart ladies have? I'm willing to craft just about anything...I just can't sew worth anything.

Yes, Pinterest is AWESOME. You need to be on there Juli!

What about an after-dark scavenger hunt that they have to use flashlights for? You could hide things around the yard and give them clues. I'm sure you could find some ideas online somewhere. I don't know if that's lame for girls that age?? But I imagine lots of giggling and running around with a flashlight? You could fancy up the clues all hybrid-like with the kit. You could make the clues really generic like "Look under the big planter by the gate" where they'd find the next clue, or make it harder or more pop-culture-ish for their age and make them more riddles they have to solve to find the next clue. I don't know. I'm a big fan of the scavenger hunt, but girls that age might not be into something like that. I only have a 4-yr-old boy, so I won't pretend to be an expert!! LOL.

I LOVE the flashlight scavengar hunt idea Jen! I bet I could use Darcy's new doodle font (coming tomorrow) to make some riddle clues. Super idea! Thanks!

I did get on Pinterest....now I have to redecorate every room in my house and throw a bunch of parties so I can do all the fun stuff I've pinned. LOL!

Ha ha! I know, right? I won't live long enough to finish all the things I have planned now that Pinterest has entered my life!! LOL. And of course, I'm accomplishing even less because I waste half my time on Pinterest! It's pretty addicting.

Both my kids had sleepovers this year for their birthdays (ages 9 & 11). Both were in a big 4 person tent which we had set up in our living room. The kids LOVED it!

Last year at the end of summer for our block party, I took the 4 inch wide cellophane treat bags, put a Hershey's bar, 2 whole graham crackers and 2 marshmallows in them, then made a card that I stapled to the top that said "No S'more Summer" using a S'more alpha from BZB Designs - store closed now unfortunately, but it was super cute!
