... what specs do you set for Color Mode - RGB or CMYK; 8, 16, or 32 bit?

What about the Color Profile?

I've always been wondering, but never thought to ask ...

RGB, definitely. CMYK is a really difficult space to work in and it will jack up your colors. Some press print places print CMYK but anywhere you're likely to print probably goes by RGB. I've never messed with the 8 bit/16 bit... mine's at 8 by default but I'd love to hear if anyone does otherwise. I set my color space to sRGB specifically (there's also Adobe RGB) because it was recommended on a photography forum and by my pro print lab.

yep, this....or I usually start with a template or BG paper from a kit so I never even have to adjust, I use whatever the default was for the paper!

I don't mess with the defaults on that either.

RGB 8bit.

Once I accidentally set it to 16bit and some functionalities were gone as a result. I no longer remember what it was, but since then I remember to check I'm at 8bit.

RGB 8 bit (16 bit is only for RAW type files and cannot be saved as jpegs or many filters/actions run) and sRGB color mode.

This is what scrapbook kits usually come as and printers want so its best to stay with these.

Mine's RGB color 8 bit. I've never messed with it.
