I've had some friends and family members from out of state ask me when I was going to register, and I'm trying to decide the best way to tackle it. I'm thinking maybe one of those "all in one" online registry sites which lets you add stuff from lots of different stores. Or maybe I should just stick with something simple like Target. LOL I just know that not everyone is going to have access to the same brick and mortar stores since my family and Jeff's are on opposite ends of the country. That's why I thought online was the way to go.

Anyway, do you guys have any advice? Any good registry sites to look at?

amazon or target would probably be my choices. I think amazon even lets you wishlist from multiple sites as well

I'd suggest Amazon and/or Target - easy for everyone, safe for everyone, and pretty easy to maneuver regardless of where you are.

I was going to suggest Amazon too x

I would probably do Amazon AND Target, personally. I say this because I know a lot of people still aren't comfortable with online shopping, and having one at Target allows you to give the option of going to a B&M store to purchase something. And you just can't beat the ease, selection, and speed of Amazon, in my opinion. :)

Yes, I'd say Amazon and Target (or Walmart...in our case, I have some older family members out in the country who basically only have Walmarts...and definitely no computers LOL).

I did Babies R Us online when I was pregnant with Jenna. Worked great for that very reason!

Normally I would suggest Target - but I've heard so many horror stories on my birth board about not being able to add and subtract items, return gifts, access the registry from home, etc. that I would probably stay away from them. We just did Babies R Us - online. It worked well :)

Have fun with whatever you decide! :)

Target's return policy is horrible, IMO, so I would do amazon and walmart, personally. Babies R Us is good too, but on the more expensive side.

I would do Babies R Us simply because its so much easier to return stuff to them if you need to over Target. Target is a PITA to return stuff too especially if people didn't get you something on your registry. Because we all know that not everybody sticks to the registry.

We did Target and Babies R Us, so people could shop online or in-store.

Target was great with our returns, too-- I got 3 of the same outfit (even though I didn't register for it), and didn't get a single gift receipt! I was afraid they wouldn't take it back, but when I took it in and explained the situation, they told me to print off the registry gift log, even though I didn't register for it, and it would act as a gift receipt. They even took back diapers he outgrew before I could get to them, without the gift receipt! They were so nice about it and everything, and congratulated me several times... they were really great.

Babies R Us, I can't say the same for- if I didn't have the receipt, it was a no-go.

I also registered at Buy Buy Baby, but I didn't tell anyone about that one-- someone asked me if I was registered there, because it's all they had in their town, so I actually went and registered there just for them, and because the store was new and I wanted to check it out. It was well worth it-- their registry gift was nicer than any other store! They also were super accommodating, and while we were walking around, they would bring us complementary bottled water, and offered to answer any questions we needed, demo any products we had questions about- literally anything. They were awesome!

ETA: I guess I just got lucky at my Target, after reading everyone else's horror stories! Ours was really accommodating for me! :shrugs: It sucks that no one else has had the same positive experience!

Hmm... I'm surprised with your experience with Target... our Targets around here are great... I've never had a problem with them returning anything, even if I don't have a receipt, I just get store credit. I've used their registry for both my wedding and for Jake... and I was able to add and delete things online in my registry... we also used BabysRUs... but my family and friends must boycott registries, didn't get a thing on them... lol!

I love Target, but they do have a horrible return policy. Had issues with both my wedding and baby gifts there.

Target is notorious for their crappy return policies. It's the one thing I don't like about them.

ITA about Target and returns. I make sure that anything I buy from there will not need to be returned. If I'm hesitant about something--I wait. I hate their return policies!

I'd register with Amazon and BRU!

The Target's around here will only let you return a certain number of items without a gift receipt. They enter your DL# and keep track of how many times you have returned something. They are return Nazi's.

Yes, that's their company policy. Which stinks when it's shower/birthday/holiday time and people don't bother to get (or give you) the gift receipt!

Here too

Which Targets do you shop at? Both of the ones I go to have never even asked for my DL when returning something, ever, with or without a gift receipt! It just surprises me to hear that... I hope they aren't somehow tracking it, but I don't see how they really could without asking for that. I've never used my debit card or anything for returns, either-- they've always just given me a gift card (which is fine, I shop there often anyway).

This sort of thing makes me worry!

I listed at Target. If they can't get to a store, they can simply order online!

I ditto the return issures with Target. Target was really really picky with their returns. If I didn't have a gift receipt (or it wasn't listed on the registry, or someone didn't tell them when they bought it off the registry) they wouldn't let me return it. I ended up tweaking the list on line to get the numbers higher when I received something that wasn't crossed of the registry properly. (That was 5 years ago).

I never had a problem with Babies R Us. If I was going to do it again, I would list exclusively at Babies R Us.

i have never had a problem returning anything to target! i would do babies r us and amazon. babies r us registries work at toys r us too - so if someone doesn't have a babies r us they can go to toys r us. just my opinion.
