ok...so I am really debating on one of the Kindles, but I like the New Fire that is coming out but am not sure I will like th eidea of a backlit screen for reading...so since I know the iPAD is backlit like the Kindle fire is going to be, I want to know for those of you that read on your iPAD, does it hurt your eyes?

I use DH's ipad to read in bed sometimes but I do prefer the eink of my regular kindle..that said I'd love a Kindle Fire...for me it would depend where I want to read the most. I LOVE to read on the beach during trips and that would be pretty impossible with the ipad or Fire

This.

I just bought a little clip-on light for my Kindle and it works great in the dark.

I tend to dim the screen of my iPad when I'm reading on it, but that's mostly because I'm extremely sensitive to light. Since I have to hold the iPad closer to my face to read, I need to reduce the light output. In the Nook app, I use the black setting (white text on black background at 50% brightness), in the Kindle app I use the mocha and butter pecan settings at reduced brightness and in the iBooks app, I use the sepia app at 50%.

I'm reading on the iPad right now... But I'm indoors... I'd really like a kindle for when I'm outdoors, which I tend to read outdoors more than I do indoors... Tho, it isn't winter yet lol
