A little boy at our church had a make-a wish granted recently and they've posted the photos on FB. I was thinking about surprising them with a little brag book, but am trying to figure out the logistics of getting the photos. I am a recent FB user, LOL! I assume that the photo as we see it isn't high enough resolution. If I click on the download button, will I get a high resolution photo? Will it notify them that I downloaded (which would take out the surprise element) or just let them know that it was downloaded (which might freak them out that someone random was downloading their kid's photo)? TIA!!

I would contact them and ask them to just send the photos that you would like to make somethign special for them....it will still be a surprise beacuse they won't actually know what it is :)

FB pics aren't high quality, by any means, but I've used a few in scrapping LOs and it was just fine. Sounds like a fun project!

Also know the smaller your book, the better the quality of the images will be. Blowing up a picture to 4x6 for a 12x12 layout will look grainier than making the same photo 2x3 for a 5x7 layout, know what I mean? The less you blow it up, the less noise you'll get in the picture... so keep it small if it's a small photo.

Other tips are, if you are blowing the photo up larger, I'd mask it or somehow blend it into the background to hide some of the "flaws" that will occur with something that size.

They also aren't notified that anyone d/led the photo. :)

I was able to right click on the photos and they worked wonderfully for the 4 x 6 brag book. I used mostly Under the Sea by Kristin and Julie and I was happy really pleased with how they turned out. The family loved it. Thanks!
