So, Im looking for a small camera bag to take with me to DisneyWorld when we go in December. I have a Canon Digital Rebel and my current bag is just too big. Im considering ordering a bag from Pink Punk Boutique- I really like the Ella Mini DSLR bag- http://pinkpunkboutique.bigcartel.com/product/ella-dslr-mini-bag
Do any of you have it and if so do you like it? Do you think this will be ok to take to Disney with me? Im not going to carry a purse so I will have my iphone and small wallet with me too.
Or can you recommend another camera bag that is awesome to take to places like DW that is not too bulky to carry around?

I have the Ella! Mine is the grey and yellow one, I think she still has it in her store. Its great. I can fit my camera with lense and a bit more. I have even put an extra lense in there. Its perfect for when I don't want a big bag.

while I think it's cute... I'd rather have something that's water resistant material... I have the Crumpler 4 Million Dollar Home (http://www.crumpler.com/us/Camera-Bags/Camera-Bags/4-Million-Dollar-Home.html?LanguageCode=EN&SKU=MDH001-B00P40) and LOVE it!!! I can fit my camera w/ lens and either another lens or my external flash, or my wallet and keys when I just want to carry one bag.

well...my point-n-shoot takes crap pictures and I KNOW that I will be disappointed if I only take that camera. We are going to get the photo package from Disney but I know I will want to take other pictures than what they will take. I guess I can bring my p-n-s just in case I decide my DRebel is too bulky but I really doubt I would use it.
then the question will be- if I get the Ella DSLR bag, what fabric do I chose????
BTW Meg- I saw on her FB page that she is going to stop taking custom orders around 11/19 and it takes around 3 weeks for her to make the bag. Just FYI in case you do order from her.

pay the extra to have it laminated fabric... just saw that that's an option and OMG, I'd have such a hard time choosing fabric... I'm obsessed with fabric lol.

I would take something water resistant too.. I took this (http://electronics.hsn.com/jill-e-designs-messenger-style-camera-bag-with-adjustable-strap_p-5602223_xp.aspx) when we went last june and it was perfect.. I wore it cross body, it didn't bother me, and I fit a LOT in there.. camera, zoom, kids autograph books and all the other crap that starts here mom will you carry this.

Meg, when we went to Disneyworld, I left my Rebel at home and just took a point and shoot camera that cost me about $200. It took great shots and I was thrilled to just put my little camera in my pocket or in my little crossbody purse. I also went in with another family and got the photopass and was happy to have a bunch of pics with me in them too.
As for the original question, I have the Crumpler 4 Million Dollar Home, and I don't love it. It protects, but it isn't "pretty". LOL. So, I think I'm going the route of buying an insert and putting it in a bag that I like. Here is the insert (http://www.amazon.com/Camaroo-Inc-DSLR-Camera-Insert/dp/B00348J5Q0/ref=sr_1_7?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1318734725&sr=1-7) I'm looking at. Search on Amazon for camera insert and you'll find lots. And the bag (http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/Crossbody/On-The-Go/154758/defaultColor/Floral+Nightingale/pc/638/c/0/sc/883/p/154758.uts) I'm looking at, but I'm not sure what color.

good to know! Not sure yet if we're doing photopass or not but I would like to be in some of the pics..so I'll probably splurge and get it. Depends how the funds are.
I have a Vera crossbody I plan on taking to Disney so I think I'm gonna stick with my P&S plan..I really want to not have to worry about the camera b/c I know I'll have enough to carry around and keep up with

Oh- I LOVE Vera Bradley bags! I have a small bag in the pink twirly birds print and its so pretty! :)
I saw on Pink Punk Boutiques FB page that she is giving away a free accessory with every bag purchase this weekend only. And for the camera bag she is doing a free camera strap! Thats a $23 value right there!

Definitely get the photopass! Buy it ahead of time to save $. That way you are in the photos and the portraits with the characters and "big places" will be better than a P&S. But the P&S is good for inside the lines and activities. Wider angle is actually better there.

See, I like my Crumpler 4 million because it *isn't* pretty. :)
I see no reason why I have to be the one carrying the camera/stuff bag all day when we go anywhere, but no way will DH carry a pretty bag or anything pastel or that looks too much like a purse. The Crumpler meet the stuff requirements and DH's requirements. Though I think for Disney we are just going to put some inserts in a backpack because we suspect we will end up with more 'stuff' than will fit in the Crumpler

I have an old Tracy Joy one (I don't think she even make camera bags anymore). It is padded and around the size that you have. I love it and it's perfect to protect my camera when I put it into my airplane carry-on as well. I've taken my camera to Disney many times and just have a couple observations:
- I agree that it's a good idea to use a water resistant bag. We were at Disney World this week and it rained 2 out of the 4 days we were there. The rain tends to be spotty, so its still worth bringing a camera, but you want it protected. I used my Tracy Joy bag (which is not water resistant) and it actually got pretty wet on one of the rides and my Blackberry (which was tucked into a side pocket) got wet enough that it would't start up for a few days. Next time, I'll take Stacey's advice and bring a water resistant bag!
- I have brought a little canon point and shoot on some trips and have always, always regretted it. I'm always frustrated with the quality of the pictures and you aren't supposed to use flash indoors on most of the rides so you can't take any indoor pictures unless you have an SLR where you can crank up the ISO. Taking an SLR is a bit of a pain though -- and hard on your neck after a while!

I have a pretty good little P&S, so that is what we are taking, plus splurging on the photopass(just ordered mine, actually). I don't want to worry about the DSLR, and most the pics I want aren't in the rides. We've taken this camera before and got good shots, and I used this camera for quite some time before we got the DSLR and still love the shots I have taken with it. I can actually manually crank the ISO on it if needed too :)

I brought my old Tracy Joy bag and brought along some target plastic bags as well. When the rains hit, I put my camera inside the Target bag inside my TJ bag. Everything was fine. Wish my Droid was in there in the water ride instead of my back pocket! Stupid me! Dead dead dead!

I have a SONY P&S that I really enjoyed at Disney, but I also took my Rebel and didn't regret it....other than that and my wallet, it was the only thing in my bag :) ...on that note though, we did have a stroller so any snacks and drinks we had went in the botom of the stroller :)

See...I know I'd regret it if I didn't take my "good" camera. There are just so many different photo situations at Disney at any given time: dark shows, fireworks, rides that move really fast, character photo ops with horrible lighting, etc.
Most P&S's just can't handle all those situations the way your Rebel can, kwim?

I have a Tracy Joy bag and its cute but just too big. I wound up purchasing the Ella DSLR bag last night so now I need to pick out fabric. I seem to be drawn to the black/white/magenta combo so I think Im going to go with that.
And about the rain and bags getting wet- Im planning on taking some trash bags/walmart bags with us so if it does rain or we go on a ride where we are likely to get wet then I will put my bag in there.
Meg- we are definitely getting the photopass. If you pre-order its only $99! Plus I've heard that some of the photographers will do "magic" shots if you ask them to if they know you have pre-purchased the photopass.
Kendall- is that still the case? The magic shots that the photographers can take?

Amber, they can do all sorts of Magic shots, some of our friends just came back yesterday and I got to see some of them online!

They did some magic shots with us (I think they are kinda cheesy but whatever) but also with the pre-purchase, you tell them that and they will tend to shoot a lot more shots for you since you've already paid. Also they will know who's the best at certain locations and will tell you to go see so-and-so to get awesome shots. I liked that they were honest and really did care about it. They ONLY shot that I was disappointed with was the one where we met Ashley Eckstein (Asoka Tano voice) for an autograph and they didn't have a real photographer there. Just some guy who took my dSLR and shot and they were not good. But the others I was happy with. We got over 100 photos I think on the CD. Lots of crazy faces and smiles and lots of good ones too.
We did have a stroller with snacks and such so most of the time I just had my camera, mini wallet and keys with me. So it wasn't too bad. Between rides I hung it on the stroller to save my back some.

Sure is! Sometimes the PP photographer will do it on his/her own. Other times, you have to ask for it. Not every PP photographer can do every magic shot, but they'll usually tell you where to go if they aren't able to do it for you.
This site (http://stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/) is an awesome resource for all things Photopass. :)
