I was just looking through my photos for my next layout, and I found some that I thought would work really well for what I had in my brain. I quickly looked to see if I had already scrapped them. Not only have I already scrapped them, but I really like the page I made. But, I had completely forgotten about it. Ugh! Is it a sign that I scrap too much? I can't even remember some of my layouts - even the good one!

I do need a better system for keeping track of which photos I've scrapped, for sure!

I do too....somebody here {I can't remember who} has a folder labeled "To be scrapped" and puts her photos on a 12x12 page and saves them in that folder . That way the pictures are already there all saved together and you can label them whatever you like ...."Halloween 2011", "First Day of School", etc etc...I LOVE this idea, but I have I implemented it...NOOOOOOO

I started adding an -S to the end of already scrapped photos. IOW, filename-s.jpg. It's not perfect, but it works for now.

I have a notepad document. I have each month and then under it what the photos are that I need to scrap yet. Then when its time to scrap, I can see what needs to be done yet or what I have for the kit I have from a team.

I found myself doing this too Liddy!!! I use ACDSee and when I scrap a photo I now untag it from which ever kid it is and tag it as scrapped. I actually just spent the last 6 months going through all 1300 of my layouts (6 years worth) and making sure all those photos were marked as scrapped!!

On a weird note I found out I have scrapped like 3400 photos in the 6 years I've been scrapping. :D :D

I do something similar, but inside my To Be Scrapped folder I have subfolders rather than pictures on a 12x12 page. It's easier to browse and easier to change my mind about how to use the photos (ie, if I decide to scrap a picture of DS and his best friend at school on a friendship page instead of a 2nd grade page).

I probably scrap less than many of you (about 10-15 layouts a month), but I STILL have trouble remembering what I've scrapped. No way could I do it without a separate folder!

I keep all photos in their original folders, but I rename the photos I've scrapped with SCRAPPED at the end. It moves them all to the bottom of the folder and out of the way, but they are still handy in case I want to use one for another layout later.
