I wasn't sure who to contact particularly and thought this might be an easy way to ask this question and get some varied response.

I'm teaching a local community class on Digital Scrapbooking this month. I'm at the point of putting together my slides and it occurred to me that I didn't want to use digi supplies inappropriately, so I wanted to see what would be okay.

Basically, this is a class that people are paying a fee for, the proceeds go to the Botanical Gardens and their educational program/costs. I'm getting a small fee for teaching the class but mostly doing it for fun and experience. I've had a lot of people ask about learning, so I thought I'd give teaching a shot. I'm also thinking of offering the same class (and content) again somewhere else.

I'd like to use some digital supplies for the following, and I'm wondering if that is okay:

---Slide design, using a few various kits that I own, so that within my powerpoint presentation they see elements of scrapping and what can be done with their scrapping skills (and of course so it's CUTE).

---Use a free kit to demonstrate a simple page to teach the basics of layering, etc. They will not be following along during the class on a computer (not my choice) but they will have a handout with the finished page and an outline of what we covered. I would like to be able to point them to the freebie I would use so that they can go home and replicate that same page if they would like. I would also like to link this from a blog page where the handout will be live, for the users to go to for direct links and full color screenshots.

--Use a free template with a second free kit so that, again, they can go home and try out using the template they saw me demonstrate.

I also planned to link them to various quality designers and stores (namely Sweet Shoppe, which is my go-to) and freebie sites to help them get started, but I figured that wouldn't be a problem with anyone :D

Thanks for your responses, I appreciate it!

Is it okay to bump my own thread?

I'm assuming that using the digi supplies to teach a class like this is fine and not considered "commercial use" but I just wanted to be sure before I did it. I want to respect the terms of use.

I would have no problem with my products being used in a handout/presentation on digital scrapbooking and I think pointing them to our new freebie section and tutorials would be a great way to get them started. Have fun with your class!

I think this all sounds fine :] You're not giving them anything to download it's just a print out and a how to.
