Seriously...I LOVE them now! It just recently sank into my brain about clipping masks so I started using them and I just love them! Before I was ctrl+clicking on the layer then copying and pasting my papers to whatever shape I wanted. Now, layer masks are making my life so much easier! YAY!

Oh yeah! LOVE them, that is what hooked me on templates!

I even taught our professional photog in Ohio how to use them and she was like "I've been missing them my entire (photography) life!!!"

I'm curious about this now. Are you talking about the photo masks? Template layers, where you place the paper/photo on the layer above the 'shape' and select the menu layer--->clip mask, where the paper takes the shape of the layer/mask below? Or is this something entirely different than what I'm talking about?

Just don't want to miss out on anything! :) Any examples where you've used the clipping masks?

I think she was talking about the later just based on her description of what was doing before... Clipping masks were also the first thing I learned to... I can't imagine taking those extra steps... I can imagine how happy you are to know it's so much quicker and easier

YES! But I learned the keyboard shortcut which is ctrl+alt+g then when I get the paper/photo like I like it then I merge down (ctrl+e).

For me, CTRL+ALT+G always opened Google desktop, so had to do it from the menu bar. I guess could've change some settings, but never got around it.

I use just CTRL + ALT and hover my mouse between the layers that I want clipped, until the cursor changes. Then just click.

If you happen to use PSE, it's just CTRL+G....

Thank you for reminding about CTRL E. I knew there was a way to merge them to reduce the file size, but I couldn't think of it.
