Does anyone know what this means - when I was extracting my Everyday Fairytale kit, my computer wouldn't extract some of the files... It told me it was too long a path... I tried twice. But I have no idea what that means, so I'm not sure how to get the rest of the kit. I tried dling twice, and extracting twice. After looking at the kit preview and what I have in my folder, I think I may only be missing the word strips. I'm not sure what I can change to make the extraction work. Any help is appreciated!

yah Susan has a mac and Windows has a character limit on file names
it should work if you unzip to your desktop then move them to wherever you keep your kits (might have to rename first not 100% positive...I'm on a mac too so no help)

I have had this happen before, I can't remember what the fix was though. Hope someone is more helpful then I am.

Yeah, I was going to ask where you are extracting it to? I always have to extract to the desktop to keep it as short as possible and then can move it to the file after it's been extracted

Hmmm, does where I do it matter as far as file names? I always just dl right from the site and save it into my main kit folder, then hit extract and save right there and then I have the zipped folder, and the regular folder and after that I then move the kit folder into my newest kits folder so I can find them easier than sorting through all the kits I have lol.
I'll go back and try it again on my desktop, and see if it gives me the chance to shorten the kit name... lol be right back! :D

b/c the path would be shorter would only be desktop/susanbarto...etc
where as the folder would be desktop/c:/briesstuff/scrapstuff/unusedkits/ssd/susan/kitname/filename etc... (obviously this is only an example)
260 character limit in windows I think (might be smaller)

Duh, I see what you were saying now! lol. When I dl it, it gives me a chance to pick the name to save it as, so I just saved it as kit, then when I went to extract, it gave me no problems, and it's all there!! I extracted to the desktop and then moved it into my kit folder.
Thanks a TON girls!!
lol, I'm so excited over this kit.

The file names themselves will be the same regardless of where the folder is located, but the path will be different depending upon what folder it's in. The path is basically a list of all the folders that a file is in, plus the filename. The path to my downloads folder is shorter than the path to some of the other folders like the ones with my scrap stuff:
C:/Users/Kate/downloads...
F:/Photo & Scrap Stuff/Scrap_Supplies...
Those extra few characters can make a difference sometimes.
eta: Wow, I'm a slow typist; there was a whole conversation happening while I was typing this :)

Yea, I didn't get what Meghan was saying at first, I was just thinking by 'path' they meant file name.... :D I'm so clueless sometimes!
