How is the week going guys? I am going to weigh in on Thursday, hoping to be down 2 pounds. I have done really well with my exercise and calories this week. My new exercise goal for the coming week is 2 miles a day, either walking/jogging or elliptical.

Today I am seeing my personal trainer after about 3 weeks off (she was on vacation) so I am up for a pretty good butt kicking at the gym today. Eek! I have a love/hate relationship with my weekly visits with her. She pushes me to do exercise I didn't think my body could do.

How is your week going?

It's a new week. I was doing really well until this past weekend just because we ate out tooooo much. Today is a new day.

That one of the reason weigh-in for me are on Thursday...far enough away from the weekend damage.

my weigh ins are on Monday's because I want to keep myself accountable to only splurging a little bit on the weekends lol... which means, I'm not a fan of Mondays LOLOL

I lost 1.2lbs this week, which is good considering we had sick boys so I didn't get much sleep, nor exercise, but I did do ok with healthy eating... we did get carry out one day because it was supposed to be Asher's birthday party which we had to cancel but my parents still came anyways to visit for a couple hours... it was bitter cold here too so I was really bad about getting out and exercising. I'm hoping to get a treadmill from a friend tho, we'll see if that happens and I need to get back into the swing of things around the house and get back to our daily routine instead of sitting at the computer...

I did bad the past week for counting points...I didn't lose but didn't gain either. I made a few new meals that were delicious though and from WW. I just need to find a routine that works with logging in lbs.

last week was really bad for me... high stress and bad eating. I hope to get back on the wagon this week... I have zumba at noon and I'm going to have to cut back on my eating.

I lost 1.6 :) not a ton but I wasn't really watching what I was eating so that's fantastic news :) So this week I need to keep track and journal what I'm eating and work out at least 3 times. Definitely do-able :)

Heather, great job on the loss!

Kim, hope you have a better week! Good job on trying some new healthy recipes :)

Rebecca, you have a bunch of stress going on, so it is going to be tough for you...but you can do it :)

Great job on the 2.4 lbs Jen!

Erin, depending on how much you have to lose 1.6 is really good! Tracking what you eat is a great way to be accountable.

I've been doing really good so far, but I have to really watch the snacking, all that salt late at night is wrecking havoc on the scale the next morning. I exercised 5 days this past week and I feel great. I have found that once I got going with exercise, I want to keep going! I weigh in tomorrow at my WW meeting and I am excited to see what the scale will say.

I've been good until today! Eating Breakfast is HARD!
I've kept the laptop out of the bedroom... I've made a point of dressing with intention... I've signed up at the gym and have my assessment tomorrow.

For this week I want to regulate my sleep schedule. Eat breakfast every morning and continue with everything I accomplished this week.

YAY!!!! for all the weight loss. Rebecca, hang in there. And tell me about Zumba! It's one of the things my gym offers that I'm thinking of trying

I worked out twice last week which was not what I wanted. I was aiming for 4 days but it didnt happen. Im meeting with my personal trainer at 3 today and fully expecting a butt kicking.

No weight lost but no weight gained either. Ive got to stop eating so many sweets. Although I am now 2 weeks completely soda free so thats good!

My weigh day is Tuesday morning and I'm hoping for a 2lbs loss when I stand on the scales in the morning, last week I was down 6lbs but it was my first week of dieting after a long time of being naughty and I always lose quite a bit in my first week of a proper diet. I'm walking every evening when I take my doggie out but there isn't a lot of exercise I can do safely because of my dodgy back so I'm just increasing the walking. You girls all sound very motivated :)

We started our week with an almost weight watchers dinner. My son is sick so no working out today or tomorrow, but hopefully Wednesday I can get out for my walk. Since I am not doing the actual weighing, just getting healthier no idea what my weight is. But it feels good to know that our meals are so much healthier now than before.

We switched to Weight Watchers on Saturday, so far so good. I weighed myself again this morning, so I've lost 5 lbs since the 1st of the year.

Since we have our dates to Disney World, I'm hoping that will be my motivation. 42 days to go.

I started my pre-op diet last Monday and this morning I weighed in and am down 21.6 lbs. I know a lot of it was water, but I'll take it.

Loving how motivated everyone is!

Heather, search Jenn Barrette on Daily Mile to add me. I just started my account this week :)

I think I will start up a weekly check in thread, since we all seem to weigh in on different days.

I missed my work out yesterday because my kids were sick :( Can't work out in the living room if I have kids laying on towels sleeping on the floor. I did manage to go out for an extra long walk this morning.

I lost almost 6 pounds this week, but considering I had several organs removed, and was in the hospital for 3 days on a mostly liquid diet, that's probably not anything to be super excited about, lol. My diet/exercise regimen for the next few weeks will be extremely limited, as I recover from the surgery, but I am at least trying to make sure I'm eating healthy stuff and not a lot of junk.

Bit extreme but I will remember this when I need to lose a little extra one week :p:p:)

LOL Andrea!

I am down 4.5 pounds this week for a total of 57 since September.

This week I want to walk more. There isn't a gym around here and I don't have a treadmill/elliptical so I have to walk outdoors. I need to stop being a weenie and just walk in the not so perfect weather.

I'll be weighing in on either Monday or Tuesday (which ever happens to be my first workout each week)

Had my benchmark data taken yesterday and I am 2lbs lighter than I thought I would be.

Has anyone ever done Les Mills Classes - my gym offers them and just want some feedback on which ones were really enjoyable etc since I have never done land based classes

I hit around 40km on the bike in the gym and around 7km on the cross trainer, not bad but I want more km on the cross trainer this coming week.

I have a goal of going to the gym 5 times this week(6 altogether as I went today) and aquafit once!

It's my first offical weigh in on Saturday!

I weigh in tomorrow and I am nervous. I think I did well this week, and yesterday I felt super light. Today, not so much! We will see in the morning how it went. Now I have to go and find the lightest clothes I can find to wear on the scales! LOL!

I had my weight in yesterday and lost 2.2 lbs last week. My goal this week is 2 more lbs and to cut back on my salt intake. I'm so puffy. Still not getting all my points in. As to exercise, it was a joke last week. Need to buy a treadmill or something because I hate walking in the cold and I don't belong to a gym. What is Daily Mile?

I finally got to 4 lbs shy of my January goal! But... then the scale decided to hate me and go up 3 lbs. Because of my heart condition, it's not unusual for my weight to fluctuate as much as 5 pounds from day to day, so I need to track it for a few days and find the average to see where I'm at for sure.

I played Just Dance 3 on the Kinect with Jeffrey tonight. It's the first time I've done anything that physical in ages, so after the second song, my legs felt weak, and I was starting to get lightheaded. The doctor said to continue taking it easy with my heart, and stop when I get lightheaded, so I threw in the towel after that, but we're hoping to try a pilates video tomorrow and see if that gets us anywhere.

I'm so excited! I put together bits and pieces of some dance videos for a workout and been good at getting at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity going. After about two weeks i'll incorporate more strength training. I've decided to mix up dance videos and brisk walking/jogging some days. So far, so good :)

Oh, I started working out on the 15th only. The backs of my thighs and my calves hurt, and weirdly enough that cheers me up so much! It's good to get back to doing this kind of exercise.

I've had a pretty good week eating-wise and lost about 1.5 lbs. Exercise...not so much. I haven't been able to find any consistent time that works for me, so I forget about it. I don't think this week will be better because I'm going to be so busy, so I'll continue to focus on counting calories and limiting/eliminating sugary foods. Next week when things are back to normal I'll try to schedule in some exercise and find a way to make it part of my routine.

I'm expecting that to be me in a few days - have a PT appt tomorrow (wednesday) then hope to go on Friday and Sunday after church (since the gym is on the way home from church).

My gym is about a 20 min bus ride from home but only about a 5 min walk from uni so thats part of the reason I chose it.

I haven't lost an ounce! I've been working out 4-5 days a weeks at a pretty intense Bootcamp, but I guess my food hasn't been as ok as I thought. I really need to log my food! I do ok with that until I have to start guessing at either things eaten out, or prepared by my husband; then I just stop :-( It's a new week! I did bootcamp again last night and will go back tonight. I just need to focus on one day of eating at a time!

What is Daily Mile?

It's kinda like Facebook or twitter for workouts only... you post your workouts or miles and your friends who are following you can comment and encourage each other... I really like it, it keeps me motivated to keep going... and since I can see how much my friends have run that week... the competitive side of me comes out and it motivates me to keep going or do more than originally planned...

kinda like at the gym when I get competitive and want to go as fast as the person on the treadmill next to me... it's tough but it's such an awesome feeling to do more than planned or to go faster than you're used to and see that you really can do it...

Cheers Jenn,

I was really pleased but did do a lot of walking at the weekend - lots of water and no weekend curry treat :glare:

Thank you for the information. I used to be a runner in college, but these days if I tried to run down the street I'd have a near death experience. But maybe it is something I can work back up to. :)

I had my weigh in today and I was down 5.1 so in the last two weeks I am down 11.5. I think that is pretty good. I will just continue to do what I have been doing and hopefully the scale will continue to go down instead of up!

Congrats on the first workout Jennifer! The first one really is the hardest, it gets easier. I actually am starting to enjoy going to see my PT.
