Saturday, dh watches the kids while I work. This afternoon dh is playing video games and Mya wanders downstairs after her nap and I hear the following conversation from the other room ...

Mya: Dad, I don't think you gave me a big enough lunch.
Dad: Ummm
Mya: My tummy was growling so much I couldn't sleep.
Dad: oh
Mya: It's still growling Daddy.
Dad: mmmmm
Mya: Can you hear it growling?
Dad: No, but I'm sure it is

Mya comes into the room I'm in with tears welling in her eyes.

Mya: Mommy, Dad won't give me a snack.
Me: Umm, did you ask him for a snack?
Mya: No, but I told him my lunch wasn't big enough and my tummy was growling, really, really, really loud.
Me: Well, Daddy is a man. You have to ask him directly for what you want.
She sort of looks at me quizzically before wandering back into the other room.
Me (yelling after her): Don't forget to use your manners.

Mya: Dad, may I please have a snack?
Dad: Oh sure, let me just put this down and I'll get you something.

She is now happily munching on crackers.

LOL Yea I remember my husband and I got into an argument because he went into the store and did not ask if I wanted something but I told him I was really thirsty and he came out with food and drink for himself and nothing for me. He told me the same thing. I have to ask him to get me a drink not just tell him Im thirsty. Now if he had said I am thirsty I would have got him an iced tea or something. That cracks me up. At least she is learning early right?

Yeah, she's my relationally savvy kiddo too, so this lesson will probably stick (at least with respect to getting what she wants from her dad).

That is hilarious! And, yes, for the most part, I would say that's a guy thing. But, I have to give my DH props in this area (I can't give him props very often in these "guy" things). He is pretty aware of those stubble things and sometimes does stuff for me because he thinks I was hinting even when I really wasn't.
