and I have no idea what to get. DH's car needs to be replaced. He's wants to take my car, and get me something that will provide more space. Well, I drive a VW Beetle so pretty much anything but a Smart Car will accomplish that!
We won't buy a brand new car. I kind of want something that could carry more than 5 people but I also don't want a full-size minivan (the last one I drove, I dented b/c it was so dang big). I'm not crazy about the idea of getting a gas-guzzling SUV, either.
What's your Swagger Wagon, and what do you love about it? What do you wish were different?

In late 2010 I brought a new Subaru Forester and I love it. I have a hour commute each day and with the weather we get here, I needed all wheel drive. I checked out a lot of different cars in the different consumer mags and test drove my top 5. From there I whittled it down to 2 and then went with the one my heart picked. That was my paprika red baby. I can't remember if it is classified as an SUV or not, but it is a smaller one if it is, and it seats 5 very comfortably. My son who is 6'6" says there is plenty of leg room in the back for him.
I don't really wish anything was different with it. I love it so much, I don't even complain when it is time to make the payment. The resale value is pretty high on a Subaru, but I've heard they are an excellent used car to purchase. :)

I know someone with 3 kids that has the Mazda with 2 backseats so it seats 6-8. They really like it.

Not a car, so probably no help.
Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab 4WD , short bed &LOVE everything about it, except the color, it's kind of boring lol. It's comfortable, gets decent gas mileage (compared to the 9MPG Expedition I traded in on it), fits 3 car seats comfortably across the back seat and I love driving it.

Before we got our Odyssey, I drove a Ford Escape for 9 years. It's a small SUV and it was pretty good on gas..not fantastic but not horrible. It seated 5 comfortably.

We have a Ford Edge. Love it!! It is very roomy inside, although it does only seat 5 (comfortably). It doesn't have a lot of "fancy" features, but it's a wonderful stylish car. Currently costs about $55-60 to fill with gas (Oregon). Decent trunk space. Deep center console to store GPS, etc (probably comes with a built in GPS these days - mine is 2008). The one thing that annoys me is noise - I feel like the car makes sounds - a rattle here or a shake there. I'm super sensitive to noise though, so most people probably wouldn't notice. The windshield wipers squeek too.

I love love love Hondas. I currently am driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey (mini van). I am seriously in love with it. It can fit up to 8 and still have cargo room. I got it in 2005 when I sold my 95 Honda Accord that was a 2 door! SO I went from small to van! It did take me a couple weeks to get use to the size but I have always loved my van. Hubby has mentioned replacing it several times (just for something newer) but I tell him no every time. I still love it. Hondas last forever and mine still has a long ways to go. No reason to change a good thing, ya know?
In saying all of that.......IF I was picking something other than the Odyssey.......I would stick with Honda and look at the Pilots or Passports.

I just paid my Sebring off and hope to get something newer in Decemberish of this year, so I will too be watching this thread. I would like to go a few months without a car payment... I'm looking for a 'mid size' Suv - no mini van here.. I swore to myself I'd never own one....lol! Now my boys are almost 14 and 11, I really don't feel the need to have one.
My brother works for Honda in Ontario so he will be happy to hear about some Honda lovers here:)

I think we're going for a Honda CRV when we get another vehicle this summer. I really love the idea of a Honda. My mom has a Pilot and loves it and I loved driving it last year when we made a road trip together. I'm open to other styles, I just really liked that Ferris Bueller commercial during the Super Bowl and got a crush on the CRV....
Also like the Suzuki SX4, which is way cheaper. Our kids are all teens now and the oldest two will be driving (which is why we need a new car... they'll get our hand me downs), so passenger count isn't our biggest concern. As long as it fits 4, we're good.

I used to have a VW Beetle and traded it in for a Ford Escape a couple of years ago. I love my Escape, but miss having a smaller car to drive around the city. We're a one vehicle family, but I know that eventually we are going to need another car. I would love a Fiat 500 but it just isn't practical with a little one and a large dog. I'll be paying attention to this thread.

We have a 2010 Chevy Traverse....LOVE it!! It rides and drives like a luxury car. Honestly the only thing negative is that it is a "wide" crossover and barely fits in our garage! LOL Of course theres the small trunk space but you get that with a third row. Did I say that I love my Traverse?
We are going to be replacing the car (2000 GrandAm) soon and will probably get a Toyota Sienna. I have heard great things about them and we need another vehicle that all 6 of us can fit in when our oldest is home from college.
