As much as I love my simple to-do lists on notes around my desk... I am considering trying out a computer based program. What are you using to stay on top of things?
I would love the thing to be a combination of lists (like grocery list, to-do's) and a calendar. And I need it to remind me, when I need it. Any suggestions?

I use Microsoft Office Outlook. The calendar is great. I know it has a notes component as well, but I don't use that so can't comment on it. The calendar does provide reminders, which you can customize and snooze as needed. Plus you can set it up to accept your email, so it functions as an inbox too!

given you were looking for organizing queens - I almost didn't open this thread... hahaha!!
I use Cozi.com... it's free (but they have a paid option)... has calendar - and send me and whoever I add a weekly review on Sunday. There are to-do lists and a grocery list that my hubby has access to, so he can add something or I can point to him if I need him to stop on his way home from work... ;)
I also love the journaling section... I'll add notes to there if something goes on that I want to remember... I've given up on ohlife.com for that... haha!

this was recommended to me a while ago, but I'm too disorganized to start using it :p

I've heard great things about Microsoft One Note. You can download an app to sync it to your iphone too. I don't have an iphone and I haven't found a comparable android app yet but I'm still looking!

Oh, and I am by NO means an organizing queen. I have to actively work on my organizational skills every day and I'm still not doing so great but I am definitely trying!

I would be lost without my color coded multi calendar Google Calendar. I also use Evernote which I absolutely love.

I use Microsoft Office Outlook at work, and I do use the notes. My coworker and I share notes through it and it helps keep us organized. At home I use TK8 Sticky Notes and just pin things I need to remember right to my desktop. :)

As much as I'd love to consider myself a techo geek, I still use good old fashioned pen and paper to make my lists. LOL

Organizing queen I am not, haha, but right now I'm using The Hit List (http://www.potionfactory.com/thehitlist/) and I like it. In the past I've used Things (http://culturedcode.com/things/). Neither has a calendar built-in but they both sync with iCal.
I go back and forth between the merits of digital and non-digital to-do lists. I think my ideal solution would be a giant digital wall of post-its that would automatically update based on my digital to-do list and calendar. :D

Thanks for all the input! I had a look at OneNote, which apperently I already owned without ever knowing. It looks definitely like a very cool tool to keep all my wildly spread notes in one place. Instead of creating dozens of Word documents and or paper scraps.
I also created a Cozi account and had a look. It's very easy, but I don't like that I cannot assign dates to tasks on my lists. So I would probably just use the calendar. I really do like the Outlook task/calendar interface, but it feels SO like work using it. :) Even though we recently switched to Lotus Notes there. The Hit List looks interesting. Or we may just set up a shared google calendar and I keep my normal notes.
BF's answer to me wanting his opinion: What's wrong with post-its?
I was just feeling so disorganised lately. My hanging registry was gone with my old desk (and I HATE folder based paper work at home), the move, the address change, the longer work hours...felt like drowning. And I was constantly scared I will forget tons of things. So I guess whatever I do, it will be better than now. I like organisation. I like being on top of things. I am a control freak in my ways (yes, even if our flat doesn't really look like it) and suppressed chaos makes me nervous.

Ginger,
You can assign dates to tasks using Cozi. It's not obvious, I found out how to do it completely by accident. When you make a task, name it with the date first, for example "3/1 Change furnace filter (every 2 months)". It will show up on the calendar on that date with "to do" listed instead of the time. The only thing is that after that day it won't be on the calendar anymore (although it will still be in the to-do list). Cozi became so much more useful when I figured that out!!

Oh. And I even looked around on their website. Whoops, now they got my deletion request and I said at feedback I disliked there was no feature for it. LOL
However, I sense it might be for the best, as I probably have to remember to use the American writing. :) We do the days first

I don't know if they explain how to do it anywhere on the website. I found out by accident because I put the date on one of my list items as a reminder to myself when I wanted to have it done - and it showed up on my calendar
I do like Cozi, but never really got into it for keeping track of my lists. I've been thinking lately about using post-it notes, but I'm trying to cut back on using "disposables" and post-it notes just don't seem very environmentally friendly :( *sigh*

Sherri, I believe there is a OneNote android app now.
